In a National Public Radio interview just days after the Washington Post published her Pulitzer Prize winning article on the CIAs "secret prisons," Dana Priest predicted that her work would cause "political embarrassment" for the Bush administration. Her prediction was not clairvoyance-based. The Washington Post released the article at a point of maximum impactthe eve of Secretary of State Condoleezza Rices crucial visit to Americas European allies in the War on Terror. Priests shocking claims did more than embarrass the administration; they harmed Americas national security and intelligence gathering capabilities during a time of war. The allegations and insinuations of torture, black sites and gulags on European soil deeply handicapped Rices mission by fueling anti-American political forces in Europe and straining relations with vital allies in the War on Terror.

This contains a brillant response by the author, to Dana Priest defenders.
Why isnt she at Levanworth getting the ole firing squad?
It isn't the reporter that deserves the firing squad but the leaker.
Washington Post is demoncRAT. It has, is and always will be a demoncRAT ally and mouthpiece.
Good question.
I started laughing the other day when she described CIA employees as "overwhelmingly moderate Reblicans."
LOL.

"hidden" agenda?
to most of the western world, Dana Priest is one fine investigative reporter, she's got a pulitzer in her purse, and with incredible intelligence sources. BULLHOCKEYDOODOO! Now we know her sources share her far left agenda, now we know they are malcontents inside the CIA. So, yes, Priest's agenda, heretofore, (is that a real word?) has not been disclosed. And to my knowledge, no one in the MSM has dare question her motives in going after George Bush and the CIA, while we are at war.
Its my last name......have no idea what clan she's from but there are bad apples in every bushel.....
No, and it has been solidly proven that Iraq was shopping for yellowcake in Niger, but what-the-heck, let's have a Mutual Admiration Society party, hand out prizes to each other and have a little champagne, what say?!
------The Pulitzer Prize for Yellow Journalism
More likely we have women reporters sleeping with their sources to get information or blackmail them into giving it up.
"All of this has been accomplished without any major media scrutiny. Consider, however, that when the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth came forward with damning, factual allegations against John Kerry, questioning his anti-war activity and dubious claims about alleged U.S. atrocities in the Vietnam War, the New York Times produced a front-page story that included an elaborate chart supposedly "connecting the dots" of a Bush-friendly anti-Kerry conspiracy. Yet not a single mainstream media outlet has examined the documented histories and hard connections of money and political interest shared by Dana Priest, William Goodfellow, Mary McCarthy, Joe Wilson, Fenton Communications, Melvin Goodman and other vocal enemies of the Bush Administration."
And the press wonders why more and more Americans believe they are idiots.
I really don't think most Americans believe the press folks are idiots. I believe they KNOW they are idiots!
We didn't know JFK was a horny hound. We didn't know Walter Cronkite was a flaming liberal, but that's the small stuff. The smug and arrogant MSM has total disdain for people outside their realm. And why not? For decades they were allowed to keep their secrets, pick and choose the stories which furthered their own agendas, and only told us what they wanted us to know.
