Nobody says it does your thinking for you. It's a measurement of how many like minded people are in the electorate. A president who doesn't have the confidence of most Americans is weak (whether you personally agree with them or not).
Yeah. A weak president won't be able to get tax cuts or capital gains taxes renewed or address AMT....oh, wait, he did that, today!
Bull crap. Polling results are numbers put out by companies who are paid to do so by other companies. Polling companies do not release their methods. We do not have any objective way of assessing their honesty and integrity, or the accuracy of their results. The media -- shown time and time again to be dishonest and biased -- use opinion polls not to report on public attitudes but to shape them.
I scoff at political polls whether or not they support my point of view, and I have for years.
