So, are they going to prohibit single parenthood next, I wonder?
I wouldn't recommend single parenthood. It is much better for children to have two parents - mother and father.

INDIANAPOLIS -- An Indiana state senator is proposing a law banning same-sex couples from adopting children, a move aimed at overriding a state appeals court ruling last month.
Republican Jeff Drozda of Westfield said state adoption laws are unclear, leading some judges to approve adoptions by unmarried couples, while others deny them.
The court's 2-1 ruling on April 13 involved a lesbian couple from Morgan County, whose adoption of an infant girl was approved by one judge, but denied by another.
The court ruled that unmarried couples can adopt a child through a joint petition that gives both partners equal custody.
Indiana Attorney General Steve Carter isn't expected to announce until Monday whether his office will challenge the appeals court decision.

SSA = Selfish Self-centered Adoption
and that is not love!
"If people would just open their minds and realize we're not bad people, just because we don't have the same beliefs as they do, we're all humans," Kim said.
We are all humans -just open your mind and ignore what humans choose to do or not do...
"We in the General Assembly have to determine what is in the best interest of children," Drozda said.
But what about the best interests of the human who chooses to engage in homosexual activity and form a homosexual pair that is not able to procreate?
I'd prohibit single parent adoption in a heartbeat. And that is essentially what we have in this case. One woman adopting the child as mother and another unrelated adult living in the house.
There is no way to stop single parenting as the biological parent has a right to raise their own child. This case is not the biological parent. This is two mentally ill people trying to recruit someone else's child into their lifestyle
Right, but these gays wanted to make a political point, if all they really wanted was a child, then "Becki" or "Kim" could have just adopted her by themselves and then named the other woman a guardian instead of this stupid self vindicating court cases.
You are exactly right. If anyone believes they are concerned about the children, they haven't been paying attention.
Why can't they just find someone to give them some sperm and invitro. Isn't that what alot of straight couples do. I find these stories insane when they both are very able to have children. In fact, they could have one at the same time. The Senator I am not sure if he is going to be able to do anything before November.
When there are hundreds of thousands of children around the world which already exist and are living either in foster care or sterile institutions, perhaps some people prefer to not create a new child when they can give an existing one a happy, loving home who otherwise wouldn't have one.
I wonder that myself. Should they start taking away children from divorced parents? And what about homosexuals who have children themselves, either naturally or through in vitro fertizilation? Should that be prohibited as well?

I agree but I thought that everyone was upset because these ladies were taking away a child from another couple who could adopt. I don't have much against this one way or the other to be honest with you. I am just trying to give these ladies another option without going to battle.
I agree 100%. And there are many married couples (i.e. husbands and wives) longing to adopt children. Some people use the phony argument that there are tons of children no one wants to adopt so homosexuals are better than no parents.
Not true, on any count.
Basically if someone hasn't yet formed a long-term loving relationship with someone of the opposite sex, there's something wrong that they need to get over. State government has a responsibility to uphold the 'best interests of the child', i.e. placement in healthy intact real families.
More to the point.
How about a single parent living, for example, with an unrelated adult roommate to save on rent?
Don't be an asshole.
My wife and I have spent fully the last two years dealing with social workers, government bureaucrats, mandatory doctor and specialist appointments, bloodletting for repeated AIDS tests, psychological and psychaitric examinations including psychometric testing, repeated fingerprinting and criminal background checks, and month after month after MONTH of heart-rending delay, obstruction, and ridiculous and pointless hurdles thrown in our path by the courts and their operatives.
Why have we put ourselves through this, spending thousands of dollars on doctors, insurance-payment-declined and costly medical tests, plane tickets, fees, taxes, and hotels? Because we want to bring a little boy who has no parents, and who is right now living in a threadbare orphanage in western Asia, into our loving home and family.
To suggest that this gruelling and wrenching process of adoption has anything to do with "aquiring/purchasing" a child is to spit in our faces, and it makes me very angry.
