I saw an interview with Sheriff Joe yesterday and he said that after the first couple of days the numbers of people they were locating in the desert was dwindling. He felt the Mexican Government had gotten the message out to avoid Maricopa County and they were going around his territory.

If true, then this proves that vigerous surveilance and enforcement does work.

This is good news, because Phoenix is a major staging area for shipment out to other areas of the country. Both drugs and human cargo.

This just went into effect a couple of days ago. I'll be interested in the statistics in the next few weeks/months.

I hope the other sheriff's in the surrounding counties take notice, and enforce our State law.
