I remember when Fire Ants came into Tennessee, maybe 15-20 years ago.
My South Carolina friends were convinced that Grits killed fire ants.
The explanation was that the ants would eat the grits which
would expand and cause the ant to explode.

I have to report that it did not seem to work in my location.

Like Brown Recluse spiders, and Armadillos, the fire ant is moving more to the north every year.
And today, I just heard that Alligators have been seen near Memphis.

For once I am glad I live this far north.

Mosquitos the size of birds are not fun, but I don't think I could handle fire ants and gators . . .
