In 636 A.D., the caliph Umar gave these instructions to the commander he sent to Basra during the conquest of Iraq: “Summon the people to God; those who respond to your call, accept if from them, but those who refuse must pay the poll tax out of humiliation and lowliness. If they refuse this, it is the sword without leniency.”
Nearly fourteen centuries later, another Muslim leader, President of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad — who like Umar is fulfilling the Prophet’s injunction to “fight those who believe not in Allah” — has issued a similar summons to President Bush, leader of the most powerful nation in what once was called Christendom: “Undoubtedly through faith in God and the teaching of the prophets, the people will conquer their problems. My question to you is: ‘Do you want to join them?’”
As for the “sword” awaiting those who refuse the call, Iran has been forging it for decades by supporting terrorist jihadists like Hezbollah and Hamas, and by relentlessly pursuing nuclear weapons. And of course, those who have already made their de facto “submission,” that is most of Europe, daily demonstrate their “humiliation and lowliness” by appeasing the jihadists in their midst, by paying a “poll tax” disguised as “humanitarian aid” and “social welfare” transfers, and by anxious protestations of their own culture’s sins and the superior glories of Islam.
Once again, we see the continuity and coherence of Islamic jihadist tradition across fourteen centuries. Yet here in the West, we refuse to listen to what the jihadists tell us and take them seriously in their own terms. We dismiss this continuity as an illusion masking the “real” causes, which must be material and psychological. …

More likely a partial beheading with a dull, rusty knife. The Islamic animals haven't changed their stripes. Pay attention or risk a vile, painful murder at their hands.
No doubt there will be tremendous bloodshed because that is the nature of evil (and there is no question but that islam is pure evil).
Islam is accomplishing one good thing. It is separating the sheep from the goats in the west world. Those with faith and a willingness to fight are forming in one corner of the ring...and the appeasers are joining islam in the other corner.
With nukes in the mix, this is going to be a frikken battle royale.

After 1500 years all they can still do is talk big. They are miles behind the world in military capability. When their close neighbors China, Russia and India start worrying about the Islam taking over the world, then they will take care of Islam. As far as we should be concerned, they are all hijib and no cattle.

Ah yes, 'Umar -- whom the Sunni honor, and the Shi'a "critize harshly" -- was Mouhammad's successor, and in his reign Islam became an imperial power.
True story: In 625, `Umar's daughter Hafsah was married to Muhammad. Muhammad's household was not always peaceful; his wives quarreled over his favors and took sides against each other. `Umar was much displeased when he heard this, and according to the story, scolded her thus:
"Hafsa, the (news) has reached me that you cause God's Messenger (may peace be upon him) trouble. You know that God's Messenger (may peace be upon him) does not love you, and had I not been (your father) he would have divorced you." (On hearing this) she wept bitterly. ([3])
Shi'a say that this demonstrates his harshness; Sunni say that this shows that he put loyalty to Muhammad over the closest family ties.

...but secular materialism will crumble as well. Where we have abandoned the God of our fathers, we no longer have a foundation. The Islamists know this. Our covilization will only prevail if we return to our active faith in our triune God.

On another thread today, I suggested the the world is on the verge of an epic paradigm shift. I can't guess what will emerge on the other side, but it will be a new civilization (possibly more than one) having molted the dead skin of the present.
And, as for islam, it cannot make the transition in its present form. Islam has one foot in the 7th century and one in the present. Since the heart of islam is its original form (unchanged by time), whatever exists after islam comes to grips with modernity will be only a shell of its former dark and bloodthirsty self. That is, unless islam tries to wipe out modernity with nukes.
Russia has already capitulated. Their foreign minister has clearly stated they will not fight either Iran or Islam in general.
