Being out at 3:00 AM invites such things. Not all people who are out are bad, many of the college kids don't go out until 11:00 PM, but most of the bad ones are out at that time, increasing the odds of running into them.

Please don't let the chocolates come back to New Orleans. I prefer to read about violent crime happening in places other than this dump.
Nice.

Just 'keepin' it real,' I'm sure. It looks like someone was keepin' it a little too real.

This happens all the time to people I know who tool around on city streets at 3:30 a.m.

When Mayor Nagin was asked to clarify, he said:
"How do you make chocolate? You take dark chocolate, you mix it with white milk, and it becomes a delicious drink. That is the chocolate I am talking about," he said. "New Orleans was a chocolate city before Katrina. It is going to be a chocolate city after. How is that divisive? It is white and black working together, coming together and making something special."
You're satisfied with that, right?

My husband often says that nothing good comes from being out past midnight--especially among youth.
Very sad story.

I don't like it when people spread bigotry. From either side.

Francis, who was sitting in the back seat, was shot multiple times. Bates said no one else in the vehicle was injured.
Random?? I doubt it.

I agree with your characterizations of both speakers as bigots. But I'll lightheartedly point out that neither spreads bigotry. I consider both to be an innoculation of sorts.
