"letting those who are here already get in line"

People unclear on the concept. A line is something which, if you are in it, you are not yet at the place the line is entering, and you are patiently waiting your turn, allowing others who were there before you to go first. Illegals are not in line. Illegals have jumped the line, denied the need for a line, scoffed at the mere existence of something so orderly as a line. The only way for them to get in one, is first to leave, and then patiently wait their turn.

Excellent point! Illegals are not in line, and have no right to be here and in fact by being here illegally even if they have citizen children(anchor babies) by law they are supposed to forfeit their "right" to immigrate as an immediate relative (IR)

Any guest workers visas should go to those who have not broken our laws and not to those that have!

Instead President Bush and our Roman Senators want to create a new "legalization" for people who clearly violated many laws. Talk about stuck on stupid!

Will someone please tell me how this will benefit our citizens and taxpayers? How will it help stop future illegal entries? Does anyone inside the beltway know what happened in 1986? History has already doomed this plan, its like DC knows the Titanic will sink and they are buying tickets on it. What sane conservative wants to help bring 30 or 40 million social services using future democrats into the USA? They are lighting the fuse on a time bomb and holding their hands to their ears as if they can't hear it it won't hurt.

I agree with Jason, the line to get into the process starts and ends at our embassy in Mexico City.
