Your citing of "Gangs of New York" was not a good point of reference, as most of those immigrants were coming in health screened and checked for relatives or sponsors. What we have now is a total inverse of that and a kick in the teeth to those trying to get here by the rules.
But you can put me down as a "nationalist" on the same level as the character William "Bill the Butcher" Cuttey - he cited more than once that letting the rabble in without restraint spells chaos. Well, here we are 140 years beyond that period of history seeing illegal aliens marching in force for undeserved rights while our law enforcement are limited to whistling Dixie looking the other way.

His monologue about the "hydrogen economy initiative" has really done wonders to reduce America's reliance on foreign energy too!
