If this RAT slut thinks the DemocRATS are going to "bring the country together" if they regain power over the taxpayers' wallet, she is in for a rude awakening. We Republicans are not going to forget what has been going on since Bush got elected in 2000. PAYBACK is going to be a ....

What would these type of people have done during WWII?

Think Vichy French.

Pelosi a leader? She comes across to me more as a crackpot than anything else....

One thing you can say about her though, is that as leader, she would never blink.

She and the rest of the Democratic leadership (if they can really even be called such), are so scared of their shadows, so scared of challenging Republicans on anything but stem cells and Social Security, that impeachment has them cowering under rocks.

HuH?

What about judicial nominees?

The Democrats are anything but scared.

With the help of the MSM they are empowered.

Why not say the truth? Nancy Pelosi is a bald-faced liar. And not a very good one.

The president has made his utter contempt for Congress and the legislative process abundantly clear by issuing an astonishing 750 "signing statements" even as he has signed that many acts of Congress into law, declaring in each case that as "commander in chief" he is not bound to enforce or obey those laws. What this means is that Democrats can pass all the bills they want after they win control of Congress, but unless they remove or neuter this president via impeachment hearings, they’re wasting their time.

This doesn't get much air time so most of the country is probably ignorant about it...To my knowledge, the President doesn't have 'line item veto' authority...But this one gave it to himself...And if that's the case, the Democrats may have justification...

Plenty right here on FR are acting like they are also too stupid to vote for the "survival of their own country."

Survival??? We're going down the tube...The only question is: Which party will get us there faster...

Exactly.
I have commented on other threads that the Dems appear to be huge fans and students of Goebbels.
Throw the MSM in there too.
Sad.

What would these type of people have done during WWII?
A few from the moonbat fringe actually pointed out that Hitler never attacked us and Japan wouldn't had attacked us had we not provoked them with a trade embargo.
History is a little more interesting than that analysis allows.

First of all, the Great War had been a futile slaughter, and nobody in their right mind wanted another one. Consequently enthusiasm for joining WWII was de minimus in America. Exactly as it had been in Britain before the blitzkrieg of France. Note that I did not say, "until the invasion of British ally Poland," since that event was followed not by an Anglo-French invasion of Germany (which Hitler was betting the farm would not happen) but by the "sitzkrieg" - the British and French did nothing for months, until Hitler gathered his forces on the western front and siezed France and forced the British to evacuate from Dunkirk.

When Neville Chamberlain came back from Munich having cravenly given Hitler all that Hitler (then) demanded, he announced "Peace in our Time" - and was greeted with wild enthusiam on his return to Britain. The British people had no desire for another war, and America had no more taste for it than Britain did. It polled 80% against.

In 1940 FDR promised to keep us out of the European war. But he thought that we should fight Hitler, even though he was actually hostile to the British Empire which covered a third of the globe (and was responsible for such depradations as the abolition of slavery worldwide). The aggressiveness of FDR's actual position correlates remarkably, however, with the interests of the USSR. The "neutral" US Navy was harassing German U-boats (and taking casualties in the process) throughout the summer of 1941 - which just happens to correlate with the invasion of Russia by Germany on the first day of summer of that very year.

Most of this is to be found in The New Dealers' War by Fleming; link

If the Dems take over in the next election, I will assume that Bush is very likely to be pushed out of office. The Dems know this and are trying not to get it out. But their supporters are so overflowing with hatred for the man that they see this as their third shot at him after 2000 and 2004, their third and last shot at him. And they want blood.

If that is the case that Bush might be impeached if the dems get in power, then I don't understand some of the Preisdents latest decisions. If I was in danger, which I don't think he is, I would certainly be making the conservatives as happy as I possibly could. That is the only thing I don't understand from him.

Well, let's pray Tony Snow will do just that.

Me too, but although I did not see it, all the news agencies even FOXNews is saying that Tony has done a horrible job on his first press conference. That does worry me because first impressions are lasting ones. I hope he can improve on his second one or the President needs to find someone else. It is way too important to get the President's message out right now and through November. For too long, the message has not gotten out and now the message is that Tony has done a poor job. Again, I really don't know because I did not see it, but that could be worrisome.

I hope Pelosi "finds the courage" to make investigation after investigation and passing impeachment articles a major thrust of their 2006 strategy

If the moonbats think the majority of Americans want MORE partisan witch hunts and boring Congressional hearings interrupting "General Hospital" and "CSI"....they are sadly (but true to form) mistaken.

Bring it on, Nancy!

The Senate has to convict with a 2/3s majority.

Ain't gonna happen.

Thank God for that! 2/3rd majority was a smart move when they made that rule.

...if he lied about the reasons for going to war in Iraq (as he indeed did)...

No, he didn't.

...or if he broke the law in ordering the National Security Agency to spy on Americans (which he admits he did).

Admiting to something legal is not a problem, except maybe for a demonrat.

I think its us who are in for a big surprise. The base of the party has decided for suicide. Our joy at bullying the president has turned into contempt.

It was important, and folks wouldn't have done it if it wasn't. But this has created a situation where the Republican's have lost their majority and we don't seem be able to find it in ourselves to quit fighting amongst ourselves thinking that the conservative base is all that counts at this point. Folks are saying, we have to sit on our hands and give the government over to the Democrats in November so that Bush gets the message.

The time to assert the POWER of the base is during primaries when we are selecting OUR candidates. This means selecting specific RINO's and kicking their butts. Then electing their conservative replacement. Attempting to assert our power during the General election is facing out own party with certain defeat and watching out ability to assert any power slip away. The MSM is no friend of the base. The lies told to take down President Bush are repeated as fact day after day from banner head lines.. and this won't get better once the Dems are in control. Bush will be impeached and humiliated despite the fact that he was 100% right and we will see talk radio swept from the air by the "fairness" doctrine..

Ask the Dems, what its like to be out. They hate it so much the are willing to risk losing the War to get power back..

The Reps have decided to assure losing the war for what.. to teach Snarling Arlen who is not up for election a lesson.

Unfortunately we will live with this "message" for at least 6 years no matter what and Bush will be made into the Nixon and conservatives will be blamed for the fiasco.

At this point we are all fools, because this is not the 1970's. Its radical Islam which will be left unchecked for 6 years at least. Will this war be easier to win 6 years from now? What would have happened if we had attempted to start fighting WWII after 6 year time out.. lets say after Hitler took Europe. Just took a few years off. Leaving Iran in this position is the plan.

If the US pulls out, like the Democrats will be forced to do by their base, then repeating Vietnam, we will see Iraq fall under Iran's wheels and they know this.

Our enemies are celebrating.. and we are thinking.. we'll teach those RINO's a lesson. Yep.. we'll teach us all lessons.

Who are these people? The Dims are insane. I think they'd like to kill the country. They're too stupid to even vote for the survival of their own country.

You are absolutely correct and yet, we have posters all over FR who claim Republicans do not deserve to be returned to office. Democrats are so much worse, there is no comparison. I just don't get the desire to beat up on our side.

Why don't we beat up on the insane Democrats?

Let's just hope the president says what we all want to hear Monday night... and begins to implement it. If he does that... Pelosi & Conyers will be slashing their wrists come election night in November.

Yep, let's hope. If GWB comes out with yet another major push for illegal immigrant amnesty the 'Pubbies are finished in November. Similarly, if all this talk of putting troops on the border is just that, talk, the 'Pubbies are finished in November.

If either of these things happens, the base is gone and likely gone for good.
