The Thermalseeker was born in rural Georgia and is the product of proud Depression era parents. He grew up on a small farm where he was taught right from wrong and the value of an honest days work. Despite graduating from a gubmit high skool he went on to self fund his way through college to graduate with advanced degrees in Electrical Engineering and Aeronautical Engineering. He later founded two successful engineering companies, spent 18 years traveling extensively as a roving RF Engineer in wireless telecommunications, biomedical engineering and in projects related to various pieces of military hardware, primarily aviation related.

Thermalseeker sold his businesses in 2000 and 2001 and is now a "commercial slum lord" and semi-retired at 44. He lives quietly in a mountaintop hide-a-way he designed and built himself down to the last nail in the mountains comprising the Cumberland Plateau of southeast Tennessee.

An avid pilot, he solo’d at 16 and earned his private pilot’s license at 17. Since the late 1970’s the Thermalseeker has extensively flown hang gliders, single and multiengine aircraft, along with various sailplanes and ultralights. Thermalseeker married the girl of his dreams in 2004, as she too is also an avid pilot. (twice the price with none of the guilt!)

In March of 2001, one of his lifelong dreams came true when he bought a small grass strip/farm in Southeast Tennessee. This gave him the opportunity to return to his farming roots, while still chasing his aviation passions. Another lifelong dream came true on July 7th of 2006 when he successfully completed and flew his Europa XS kit plane, which took 2250 hours over 3.5 years to complete. Building the Europa was a tremendous learning experience and he now has a passion for all things composite. Yet another dream came true on March 26, 2007 when the Thermalseeker purchased a Ximango motorglider. This is just plane fun! Every pilot needs a Ximango!

When they’re not mowing the runway or tending the garden, the Thermalseeker and his lovely wife spend their time soaring in the Ximango over the beautiful Sequatchie Valley of southeast Tennessee, or flying from destination to destination in the Europa in search of the perfect $100 hamburger. Other interests include playing guitar and banjo, working with his Labs Myrtle, Pistol, and Wilbur, flying RC airplanes and helicopters, and gardening and preserving - he grows almost all the food he consumes.

Snow skiing, swimming, and hiking are also serious passions, as is sailing. He and his lovely wife, Moyesgirl, both believe that an armed society is a polite society and he and his wife exercise their second Amendment right to keep and bare arms on a daily basis. Woe be unto the fool that messes with either. (We practice regularly and we will do what is necessary to protect what is ours.)

As a 30+ year student of the weather, including numerous college level meteorology courses, he firmly believes that “climate change” is a natural process most likly related to the varying output of the Sun, and eccentricity of the earth's orbit, among other factors, such as water vapor. He believes those stirring up hysteria over the subject are somehow profiting from the fear they spead. If you believe the "Profit" Owl Gore’s “man-made Global Warming” tripe, you are a Goron and are suffering from “Goreguilt”. You need only look at the available data for yourself to see the truth.

Thermalseeker is a staunch Constitutional Conservative with libertarian leanings. By libertarian leanings, he means that it is his belief that each person is responsible for their own actions and, unless someone is harmed physically or financially, no crime has been committed. By Constitutional Conservative, he means that the Constitution is the only contract with America that anyone needs. Our gubmint need only abide by it's brilliance and all would be well. Particular attention should be paid to the first, second, fourth and tenth Amendments, but alas, how far we have strayed!

He believes that if evil does exist in the world it has manifested itself as Hillary Clinton, but, then again, that Osama/Obama guy makes Slick Willy look like a rank amateur. Never in his lifetime has he experienced someone like Osama/Obama who is so very good at using so many words to say absolutely nothing, repeatedly, and have hords trip all over themselves to be followers.

The Thermalseeker and his lovely wife both fear for the future of our great nation, and our future, as so many of our fellow Americans have completely forgotten the meaning of freedom and liberty they claim to support each Fourth of July or Veteran's Day when they watch parades and wave their little American flags.

He believes that Socialism will bring the end of the United States of America that we all know and cherish. He believes that, unless we change course, and soon, we are, at this very moment, living in the last great years of a once truly great nation. This has all come about due to a lackadaisical populace with complete and utter ignorance of history at all levels of our society.
