Apparently they were originally considered sloths but have been reclassified as bears, hence the combined name.

In Columbia a boy was trying to sell a young sloth.
It was in a tree branch, I wanted to touch the fur and it swung a 3 toed paw with about 2 inch claws.
They may move slow but they can swing their paws very fast.
