Outstanding rant.
If you have ever had a steak at a Ruths Chris restaurant, you know that sometimes they bring that wonderful steak to your table with a sprig of parsley on it. I hate parsley. Hate it. If I were to treat my steak the way some of us want to treat our President, I would have to throw out the steak, due to that nasty parsley that comes with it. I can deal with the parsley to get the steak, and that is what I am asking FReepers to do.
Some will scream at the waiter about betrayal, boycott the restaurant, high-five each other when it goes out of business, then look on dumbfounded as International House of Parsley takes its place.

Read my posts more carefully, including 267. No, I'm not a GOPer, but I said I plan to keep pushing them to the right. I am as conservative as can be, my friend. I vote for the most conservative candidate, which in my lifetime, has been the GOP.
This is a conservative forum, and I'm quite happy here, thank you very much. I have no intention of joining a 3rd party. I have no intention of destroying the GOP. I have every intention of supporting the conservative wing of the GOP in their efforts to become dominant.
And I think Bush is a great President, despite his errors, which all president's make.

I didn't say DeLay "hit the road."I know, and I never said you did.
I said the GOP "threw him under a bus."
No they didn't. They stayed out of the fray for the duration.

Kennedy was nominated by President Reagan and Souter was nominated by President Bush I, both Republicans. Meaning it's very important that we have a Republican president AND a Republican Senate.

Well, no, see here's the thing. If we dare go against the almighty pukin, we get suspended. Just ask Sir Gawain. You apparently forbid us from disagreeing with him. A&M's corps of cadets must be very proud of your courage in making a public post.
Sir Gawain's history of suspensions is impressive on its own merits, without bringing in any other posters.

You proved the point. Can you point to a single case where "the party" supported a challenger to their existing incumbent? (I'm not puting the burden of proof on you, it's just that I can't think of any case where "the party" was motivated to do anything other than milquetoastify a candidate the longer he stays on.) That was the point I was going to make. Republican incumbents of a liberal persuasion are often protected by the party against conservative challengers. I've seen it time and time again. I can't think of a SINGLE race where a conservative challenger has beaten an liberal Republican incumbent in the Primary Election. And I can think of several where the Republican Party provided overt and covert support to the liberal incumbent.

President Bush has done many good things, the WOT in particular, and I'll continue to support him where I believe he's right, and continue to criticize him civilly where I believe he's wrong until it's time to choose a new leader. Well then obviously you are not part of the problem. I think that's all Pukin was trying to say.

Were you sent here by the DNC and it's branches in '04? If so, then you deserve attacks.
Hardly anyone who criticizes our President on FR, even in less than polite ways, was sent here by the DNC. That probably happened around election time, but not now. I think there are far more legitimate conservatives on here who are just really upset with the administration over the amnesty program than there are DNC operatives trying to make us fight each other.

Rumsfeld and Cheney deserve better from us. They are serving with their last ounce of energy and life. Are they getting bashed here?
I have been busy writing to senators and congress urging them to hold the line and focus on SOUTHERN BORDER ENFORCEMENT FIRST.

***Like it or not, a lot of Bush's base is very upset right now. Do not treat us like we are spoiled children crying because we did not get a candy bar. Such accusations are very insulting. ***
I'm not familiar with your posts, but from what you said if you run down the President at this delicate and desperate time in our country's history, then I have to say, "No, you're more like spoiled children who toss down their baseball bats because they don't like the umps' calls and then go home and LET THE OTHER SIDE WIN." If I mis-read your post, I apologize. If not, grow up.

Sir Gawain's history of suspensions is impressive on its own merits, without bringing in any other posters.Oh please. I've been a freeper in good standing for nearly six years. I doubt I've been suspended any more than the average freeper. Sure I've gone overboard a few times, but I'm not some disruptor.

To: LK44-40
I feel sure you would wish that President Bush not even have the "bots" to take up for him - then you would have 100% hatred of the man, but we are here and we will take up for him.
In fact, I consider the term "bushbot" an honor same as GOP Team Leader. I have spent hours standing up for this man as leader of this nation. Cannot think of a better man I would trust with this country.
He is not perfect and does not do everything I want - but I work on the percentage basis and 75% is a lot better than -75% the dems would give me.

The way to deal with Republicans who have actively worked against our goals is to defeat them in Primary elections. We do not even have to defeat them all, only enough of them to send the message that we will indeed target them if they work against our agenda. It should be the goal of EVERY conservative to see that Lincoln Chaffee is defeated in November. His seat is one we can afford to lose. Were I a Rhode Island resident, I would vote for the Democrat if only to send a message to Snowe, Hagel, Collins, Graham, and especially that bastard Specter that their primaries just got a lot tougher.
Far better to replace Chafee with
the Club's candidate, Laffey. He has a real chance of winning.
Your remarks about striking fear into the RINOs by targetting them for defeat are spot-on.
