Conyers Opposes Vouchers, Sends Own Kids to Posh Private School

Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.), a self-proclaimed advocate for the under-privileged, opposes school vouchers that would allow poorer Americans access to private schools for their children. At the same time, Conyers enrolls his own children in The Cranbrook School, one of the nation's most expensive private schools.

Conyers says that the accusation he is a hypocrite is unfair. "The explanation is simple," said Conyers. "I don't want my kids sitting next to the kind of riff-raff you find in the public schools. And I certainly don't want to give them vouchers that would allow them to attend The Cranbrook School."

What a liar. He has been leading the charge for impeachment for several years now. He also wants Bush to be tried for war crimes.

ROTFLMAO!! I can't believe Cab Calloway Conyers is backing off with this gem.

I'm sure the "conservatives" will buy this hook line and sinker.

Well, maybe he's afraid of President Cheney. After spouting off about about impeachment, the dip shits have had time to think what happens afterward.
---
I keep saying, if they can do this they will impeach Cheney as well and it will be hello, President Pelosi.

I believe he's telling the truth about his first day as chairman.
The first item of business will be the deciding on the lunch order.
The second item of business will be articles of impeachment.

The allegations I have raised are grave, serious, well known, and based on reliable media reports and the accounts of former administration officials.

Reliable media reports? I get utterly disgusted everytime I see a politician react to a media report. Does the media drive our national agenda? Can a politician not think before they read the paper? Scottish law Arlen has to be the worst.

He's not backing off one iota. What he's saying is that impeachment will not be the first course of action. Instead, a sort of "discovery" will be.

Heads up. This is their game plan.

I will not argue about the immigration issue and what President Bush is doing regarding it because it happens that I agree with his realistic solution, however what you are suggesting is very wild conspiracy theory that is not worth of this great forum.

It wasn't a "conspiracy theory", it was a "political theory". Politicians strike bargains with their opponents all the time and I didn't claim it was the case or even a partial motivation but was just offering up possibilities.

Me saying I trust him is as ridiculous as his promise.

Given his endless "special" committee meetings and investigative panels into the "misdeeds" of President Bush there is no way a human being with the IQ of a carrot should believe this promise.

I think conservs and libertarians should be flooding Conyer's office with complaints of his moonbatting! And I mean it. Strike back at these leftist nuts. Those in Michigan should flood letters pages in the media, call Talk Radio talkers in Mich., start blasting Dems like Conyers instead of just sitting back and blasting our own Party continually. ( And I do blast them but I also thank them on certain issues such as jurists on SCOTUS and tax cuts.) If our Party is too wussy to strike back, then conserv voters have to take up the cudgels and do it ourselves.

If you are asking whether or not I'm going to get red faced and angry about George W Bush's personal legacy as President, the answer to that is a resounding NO. Someone with that poor communicative skills had no business running for higher office as a Republican, as a Dem he'd be protected from the media. I'm not calling for the man to be impeached, but after what he's done to my city with his innability to seal the border, I have a million more important things to worry about then whether he's impeached.
