Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has been invited by China to attend the June summit of Shanghai Cooperation Organization. However, China will not discuss the nuclear issue with Iran or persuade Iran to accept any solution to end the crisis.
I don't think they (summit and Iranian issue) are related. Iran is an observer of Shanghai Cooperation Organization, along with India, Pakistan and Mongolia, and is invited in that capacity."

People are picking sides, the spiral towards war tightens yet again.
There is a security clause in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization by-laws for member nations. Russia and China both recently invited Iran and several other nations to become members.
