"The Horror, the Horror"

If you think immigration is a problem here, you should thank the tribal deity of your choice that you do not live in one of the low countries. In the Netherlands, the big story is the fight between the "hardline" immigration minister and the Somali MP whose citizenship she is threaten to strip - the MP gave false information, on entering the Netherlands. She did not want to be located by her family, which had arranged a marriage for her in Canada. Complicating the issue is the fact that the Somali, who is a champion of the rights of Muslim women, is disliked by Islamic immigrants. What a choice. READ

Just across the border in Belgium, our friend and ally Paul Belien is virtually running for his life. He is universally denounced - and threatened - for running honest reports of crimes committed in Europe by Islamic immigrants. In modern Belgium, truth is not only no defense, it is a thought crime. Here is the lead-in to Belien's latest piece on his superb website Brussels Journal:

During the past few weeks I have been under attack from the Belgian Left and the media. In February the editor in chief of the mass circulation weekly Knack (a supposedly centrist publication) wrote a piece entitled "Paul Belien and His Pals," claiming that I was part of a neo-con conspiracy, led by Daniel Pipes (whom until then I had never met or spoken) and the Danish journalist Flemming Rose (of the Muhammad cartoons), who wanted "to anger radical but also moderate Muslims into violent action. Their [=the conspirators'] goal is to persuade public opinion in Europe and America once and for all that all Muslims are violent and dangerous, so that the `clash' [=the world war against Muslims] in Palestine, Iran and Syria can really kick off."

Belgium is in chaos these days, as churches shield illegal aliens and tensions mount over a brutal murder originally believed to have been carried out by North Africans but which turned out to have been the work of a Polish immigrant. Naturally, the official take is that the vicious far right is exploiting a few unfortunate incidents. The reality is that a rapid increase in violent crime in Belgium and the Netherlands is largely due to Muslim immigrants. It was his polite and non-inflammatory reporting on these cases that has made Belien the subject of the current witch-hunt.

Belgium and The Netherlands are extreme but not unique cases. The European Left, which, as in the United States, includes most of the so-called Right, has been pandering to "the other" since the days of Montaigne, the anti-Christian ironists who first taught the French to admire the Cannibals and despise themselves. In every generation it gets worse, from Voltaire to Rousseau to Robespierre to Anatole France and the Surrealists. At this point, the only thing Europeans are proud of is their tolerance, a word that in today's languages means only self-hatred. Muslims are dangerous, not because they reject Christ and hate Christians and even the entire post-Christian West. No, it is only their resistance to feminism, homosexualism, and immorality. European liberals have been designing loyalty oaths, requiring Muslims to reject the oppression of women and to accept homosexuality as normal. No wonder so many pathetic would-be men are turning to Islam as a wholesome alternative.

I should not single out the Europeans, since we Americans are hardly any better. Yes, it is true that a certain redneck element is disgusted by both Islam and anti-Christianism, but the same class of normal people exists in France. It is just that it is a smaller class, corresponding roughly to people whose livelihoods do not depend directly on the government. As more and more Americans become government school teachers, social workers, software designers in the defense industry, and university economics professors who tout the free market but suck their salaries out of the tax payers, we can expect to reach the level of European self-hatred in less than a decade.

To be precise, this wretched boy is a Gypsy who came from Poland. In Poland politically correct name for Gypsies is Roma, but if they do something bad the proper name is Romanian.

Totally disagree, we don’t have anything against Romanians nor we are such ridiculously politically correct. Those who call them “Romanians” are simply ignorant and cannot distinguish these two nations.

"In modern Belgium, truth is not only no defense, it is a thought crime."
It would also be in the U.S.A. if the Left had its way. Already, there are "hate crimes," as though other crimes were "love crimes" and somehow less important (they are less important to the Left), and "speech codes," which abrogate to some extent freedom of speech--in the Land of the Free, to maximize the absurdity.

However, you make a serious mistake:

"we can expect to reach the level of European self-hatred in less than a decade."
The United States is not Europe.

The people of Middle America love the United States.

Those of the Decadent Leftist enclaves, of course, are anti-American and, like European Leftists overwhelmed by self-loathing and a suicidal death wish. The horrifying disease of Decadence, that has infected most of Europe and will prove fatal barring a miracle cure, has infected the Leftist enclaves of America also but has encountered miraculous resistence in Middle America.

Middle America, in fact, remains a healthy, strong, ascendant, brilliant bastion of Western Civilization.

Middle America will survive the plague of Decadence just as a select population survived that ravages of the Black Plague and renewed a ravished Europe.

And one other thing: Despite the difficulties the U.S. faces, the vast majority of illegal aliens flowing in, are Mexicans. These people are Christians--unlike the Muslims who will take over Europe--and they are family oriented and ascendant--unlike the Europeans and Americans, infected with the plague of Leftist decadence--and they tend to abhor big, intrusive, tyrannical government--to which the sick Left is committed.

Furthermore these immigrants are themselves ascendant. They are not overwhelmed by self-loathing and suicidal decadence. And they admire the U.S.A. and wish and expect it to prosper. That's why they're immigrating in such vast numbers!

Europe's immigrants are mostly Muslim. They intend to convert Europe into an Islamic theocracy. Barring a miracle, they will.

Europe's future will be determined by the conflicting camps of Decadent Leftists and theocratic Muslims. No wonder those responsible are overwhelmed with self-hatred.

America's future is bright! healthy! prosperous! ascendant! The American Dream is alive, well, and thriving--because of Middle America!

Europe is doomed.

While I am inclined to agree with the main thesis this is simply too innaccurate not to comment on. Most of the denizens of the defense industry are distributed around customary American political norms and it is difficult to fault employees of state-funded schools for taking their salaries from its source whatever brand of economics they tout. There are, in addition, a number of private universities at which this seeming contradiction does not take place and it doesn't seem to affect the politics of the faculty involved (in fact, the economics professors I know tend to be less liberal than their counterparts in, say, literature or anthropology or sociology, not to mention the notorious "studies" curricula).

There is the kernel of a sound idea here, IMHO, and it is that as more of a population becomes directly employed by the state government, more of it naturally tends to assume that the state government is the rightful repository of all social guidance. They are, after all, "experts" even if all they do is follow dogma unquestioningly.

There is, in fact, a marketplace of ideas following strictly economic rules - Thomas Sowell wrote a book on it entitled Knowledge And Decisions - and it is here that we see its principal manifestation. One cannot operate a centrally-controlled economy of ideas any better than one can operate a centrally-controlled economy of money, although certain Europeans seem insistent on trying both on a depressingly regular basis.

Come on, I follow/view Polish news, the term Romanian ("Rumuni") is used often when the context is not flatering. The term Roma is used when the context is nice. And the same people who use the term Romanian are hipocritical, they start to foam when you use term Gypsy ("Cygan").

I’m curious what news about Gypsies from Poland you read? There is few Polish gypsies and they are practically absent in media. I don’t remember any mayor news about them till this accident in Belgium happened. Romanian Gypsies were expelled from Poland at least seven or eight years ago, so you would not find Gypsy professional beggars in the streets of Gdansk now.

I also repeat that the only reason if somebody called them “Romanians” is his personal ignorance. What could you know if you are not from Poland?

Are you saying that most of them left for Western Europe in last couple years? You might have a point - I did not see any during my last visit to Poland this year.

I also repeat that the only reason if somebody called them "Romanians" is his personal ignorance. What could you know if you are not from Poland?

I do not live in Poland right now, but I visit Poland and I follow Polish events, read Polish publications, see Polish news, have Polish relatives and friends etc ... I think that you are puting spin on this issue.

Certainly I know Poland much better than you know Russia :)
