Barf-a-Rama. These two are looking to make a quick score at the taxpayer's expense. They got lost in the projects. Big deal. They were treated harshly by a cop. Get over it.

Rather quick to judge, aren't ya? One of the main streets that bounds the Cherry Hill area is Hanover, which does lead out of the city in the southerly direction, where they were headed to go home. It also leads to an entrance to I-95. It is a logical direction to take if you are a map reader and wish to avoid the traffic on I-395 near the Camden Yards stadium.

I have driven Hanover Street myself by using a map when I was new to the area and fortunately, it was daylight at the time. Even GPS systems don't have "project-dar."

Female cops in "the land of pleasant living" (taken from a beer commercial based on life along the Chesapeake and its tributaries) have a bad record of shooting people for no reason at all. You are lucky.

You are correct. I remember another recent case in the "Charm City" (Baltimore) area, involving a homeschooling mom, one of those white church ladies with the embroidered corduroy smock, glasses, and the really long hair with bangs, who had a bunch of afterschool kids in her care. When one of them was injured in a playground, she had no recourse but to put them all in her van and rush them all to the emergency room with her so the one child could be treated.

She was arrested for not having proper car seats and put in jail -- where she remained for days, because the processing was so backlogged. Luckily, some fathers left work to come and get the kids, or those sheltered kids would have been put into the foster care system and never see surburbia again for the rest of their natural lives.

I feel just as bad for any similar black parent to whom this same thing could easily have happened. The black families in Maryland who struggle out of ghettoes to get into nice, mixed-race suburbs often are then high-jacked by Demo do-gooders who gerrymander school districts so that the kids in "safe" districts have to go to school with bussed-in kids with one druggie parent and no aspirations but hip-hop, guns and drugs. Thanks, Democrap socialist engineers. If that isn't racist, what is?

I know those nails.....they belong to a lady who , ( can you believe this ? ) works as a chashier at the Home Depot on Eastern Ave. !
If you happen to get her, check the math on your receipts for typos.

This is one of those many "none dare speak its name" situations in America.

What are the odds the police who arrested this young, white couple was black and full attitude?

You know that's exactly what happened. Some black officer who didn't want to mess with these white kids. But will the racism of the black officer be made an issue?

If I'm wrong, I'll retract, but I know I'm not.

The officer Natalie Preston apologists who are accusing these kids of trying to score some dope, must not ever have attempted to navigate Baltimore's murder maze.I'd like to see one of them take a two block walk on foot, north of Johns Hopkins and then make a left...or right, and continue on for a block or two.
The chances of either witnessing, or being the victim of a street crime, are very good. Excellent if on a weekend after dark.
If your a white female and you have had too much to drink at one of the pubs in
Canton.....God help you.

Housing cop equals security guard with the same badge heavy, untrained jerk behavior. Add in black female which equals affirmative action hire. You get what you pay for.

Most female cops last until their first isolated confrontation. Then they either transfer to an area where they don't end up confronting the bad guys or quit. Many of them are shocked that the bad guys don't adhere to the "take it easy on the girls" attitude that prevails in training courses, and most have no clue how big a kick a bad guy gets out of raping a female cop.

In the late 70's when a push to hire female cops was going on, I decided I wanted to be a police officer. I even went to college and got a 2 year degree in Police Science; since there was also an emerging attitude that police officers of the future should have a college degree.

My landlord was retired from the Chicago Police Department and one of my teachers had been an officer in Compton, California for 14 years. They were both very nice to me, and never said anything unkind about my wanting to be a police officer; but both of them at different times sat me down for a heart to heart talk and told me what you have said here, except they had pretty graphic stories to back it up. I changed my mind about being a police officer and have not regretted the decision.

I hear that there are terrific female officers out there, and I see some tough acting females on the TV show COPS, but I still think you are right about the average female. There are probably exceptions, but in general I think it is a bad idea to have female officers. I also know most male officers have doubts about a female being able to back them up in a bad situation ,and just that idea probably causes male officers to make decisions differently when female officers are present.

I don't think I wasted my degree though- I did work for a Federal LE Agency for 10 years (non-enforcement job) and I think where my degree really helped was in raising 4 kids.

Uh, this happened NO WHERE NEAR Hopkins.

I have a close relative that works in the Balt. City prosecutors office. He is white and quite conservative (made even more so by working there!). Even he says there is probably more to this story than is being told (he's worked with the officer involved).

It may have happened as is being reported, but he thinks it doesn't pass the sniff test.
