"Those stinking, waste of skin, walking, semi-hominid meatbags! How dare they call us rascist?!?"

Some guy with an accent beggin' fer change on the corner. Said somethin' 'bout being Chancellor or something... ; )

I wasn't going to knock the new Chancellor. I like her from what I've heard. Too happy they put this guy out.

You beat me. Perhaps a university Tutor in sleazy politics masquerading as the Chancellor of Germany?

Nah, can´t have been the Chancellor of Germany. The Germans aren´t that dumb to vote for such a slimy liar with his dyed hair, can they? ;-)

Whenever I see him, I´m happy he´s gone. The foreign policy is the only part of our politics where things improved a lot. Merkel addresses the human rights issue in Russia, the technology theft in China, Iran, and she acts like a partner for our smaller neighbours.

On the other hand, the coalition with the socialists just raised the VAT by 3% to 19%.

I remember watching news back in 1998 about Schroeder's election and his cheerleaders on news boasted that Schroeder is Germany's Tony Blair.

Much to their shock, Blair would have a steely resolve on defence/national-security matters. And of course we now know Schroeder is just-another-typical-leftist that masked himself as a reasonable leader. He is not even Willy Brandt who I think would probably be more like Blair on WOT had he still been alive now.

Although I have sympathy for Merkel - but this is for sure the wrong way to solve our problems. A economy can not be reawakened by public spending.

We have to get rid of this wrong ideology. Instead of a pi**ed "Gleichstellungsgesetz" and "Elterngeld" we need to be free of exaggerated tax, red tape and irrational social spending. If somebody has hunger he needs bread. I agree with the idea to help the really poor, but I will never understand that the lazy are stuffed with money and I hate their awareness of claims. Merkel and her administration are doing the wrong things in the moment.

"Fascism is however entirely a far right construct, not a left wing one."

"I don't know where you took political science courses. But as a political scientist let me assure that fascism was a left wing variant. It's founder Mussolini began his political career as a socialist and editor of a socialist newspaper."

I, too have a degree in Political Science, supplemented by extensive study on Russian and German history, particularly that leading up to the second world war.

Vectorian is correct, Cacique. The lie that Hitler's Fascism was "right-wing" was promulgated by Stalin to differentiate it from his own brand of socialism. Hitler excercised a great deal of indirect control over German industry, and towards the end of the war, near total control under the aegis of Albert Speer.

In Russia, Stalin controlled industry by "eliminating" the factory owners and upper management who knew how to run a business, and replaced them with cronies who were as ignorant as they were loyal. It nearly wrecked Russian industry as effectively as 'collectivism" wrecked Russian agriculture.

In Germany, Hitler inserted party loyalists into these businesses. Their job was to "learn" the business operations of industry, while keeping tabs on things. As long as businesses toe'd the party line, and did what they were asked, when they were asked, they were left alone. And many of these businessmen became party members.

Had Stalin tapped into "national unity" up front, as Hitler did, the war would have been very different. In the end he had to invoke in the name of "Mother Russia", in order to rally the country and beat back the invasion.

In the end, Hitlers need to control everthing got the better of him, and he lost the war as a result.

As for racism, marxists/socialists are just as capable of being racists as anyone else. Just look at the rhetoric coming out of Venezuela, or any of the pro-illegal, marxist based organizations that have protested here. La Raza, and the Brown Berets are very racist left wing groups with Marxist roots (remember, Leon Trotsky fled to Mexico when Stalin took control of the Soviet Union, later to be murdered by Stalins assassins).

Not all Fascist regimes are leftist/socialist, but all leftist/socialist regimes are, to one degree or another, fascist.

Everything you've written pretty much confirms what I stated, so how is Vectorian right?
