A Day in the Life of President Bush (photos): 5.19.06
White House, Yahoo

Posted on 05/19/2006 5:06:20 PM PDT by MJY1288

Today President Bush spoke about the American Competitiveness Initiative to a large crowd at Northern Kentucky University in Highland Heights, Kentucky

He also spoke at a fund raiser for Kentucky Congresman Geoff Davis at the Hilton Cincinnati Airport in Florence, Kentucky. The President also attended a luncheon for Rep Thelma Drake, R-Va., who was unable to attend her fundraiser due to an important vote in a House committee. But before he left for these events he met with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal, at the White House this morning

I loved the line he often uses as such events where he self depreciates himself but also encourages students that even if you fail first time you can go on to succeed.

""Those of us who've been around a while can also recall a few times when life took an unexpected turn, not always in a positive direction. As I mentioned a moment ago, I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Wyoming. My college experience, though, began at a place called Yale -- but I didn't finish there. Instead, I dropped out after a few semesters. Actually, dropped out isn't quite accurate -- "asked to leave" would be more like it. (Laughter.) Twice. (Laughter.) The second time around, they said, don't bother coming back. ""

I can just hear him saying that in his dry way. I love that man - and Lynn is a pretty cool lady herself. I have had a sign in my kitchen that reads The only failure is not getting up when you fall. I remind my kids of it when needed.

My hubby met him (yes I'm jealous) at a business meeting and had a short one on one conversation before he became VP and remembers him as a person who had it together - knew exactly what he was talking about even though it was not his field of expertise. Quite a guy.

I believe the focus President Bush has on speaking to the younger crowd is laying the foundation for a revolt against Liberalism and all of it's poisons. If tomorrow Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, or Howard Dean were to speak to that same crowd of students.... they would not be leaving that auditorium feeling good about anything.

The Democrats and Liberals foment nothing but negativism and guilt, failure and hatred. This is the stark difference between listening to an optimistic conservative and a Liberal democrat

How come you can take her to work then, when we had a puppy we could not take her outside for 12 weeks until she had finished all her injections or is it different in the States.

All vets in the UK recommend until the final injections that you avoid contact with other animals.

There is no restrictions on pets when it comes to when they can be taken into public, They must have their shots and must be leashed, but no restrictions as to when they can be taken outside. I got my first dog (Yellow Lab) from the local animal shelter when he was so small he could fit in my coat pocket.

Just today, my wife took Roo Bear to the vet for her shots, she was diagnosed with round worm and was given the medication to eliminate them and the Vet gave us a bunch of advice on how to raise a German Shepperd Pup, He told my wife not to feed her Puppy food, because he claims that Shepperd's are prone to hip and bone problems and slowing their rate of growth will help slow that process down
