The US: "Unstylish" and "bad Food"
I don't get the "bad Food" since so much "Amercian Food" are mixtures and remixes of immigrant foods from around the world.
As far as "stylish"... meh... I'm PROUD to not be a metrosexual baffoon who follows the style of the week, the flavor of the day.
This probably refers more to the "meat and potatoes", get your hands dirty, attitude of just getting the job done with 'brash words' or 'brute force' rather than dance around and pontificate on it while sipping tee at noon for years before you decide to hold a special meeting to chat some more.
What do most people around the world think defines American food? McDonald's. If that was what I judged a country's food by, I would rank it at the bottom too.

Ditto. Somehow I don't immediately obey when some fashion designer from Milan, Paris or New York or his boyfriend decide that cuffs are stylish and I must immediately throw out all my pants without cuffs.
Basic meat and potatoes dishes, English breakfasts et al, typical as American food, are directly related to British fare.
