Former US vice president Al Gore has denied rumours that he plans to stand for the US presidency, saying he could foresee 'no circumstances' that would cause him to change his mind. Asked yesterday evening at the Cannes Film Festival whether there was any truth in speculation that he had his sights set on the White House again, Gore said: 'I don't plan to be a candidate again for national office... I don't see any circumstances that would cause me to change my mind. I was in elective politics for 24 years. I've made four national races, two for president, two for vice president. I have found there are other ways to serve, and I'm enjoying them.'

Too bad. It would be fun watching him lose again.
Please, oh please, please!
He isn't serial.
liar liar pants on fire... Al would love to be 'drafted' after the dim-o-crat convention is deadlocked between sKerry and Hitlery
Not suprising, but a little disappointing. Gore wasn't a terribly strong candidate and he would have fought a brusing primary battle with any presumptive contendor. It potentially could have given us a walkover in 2008.
He wants the Dems to *beg* him.
Well, how about Kerry/Gore?
But it wouldn't be worth having to watch him before that - I have a strong stomach but there's a limit
Good Al, now sit down and shut up.
and for God's sake get some sun. I've seen the bellies of dead fish with darker tans.
No say it aint so. We need you Al. Please help gum up the works.
Who thought you were "series" in 2000? Thanks for the laughs Al.
Thanks for your patriotism.
RATS!!!!!
In political circles, this is code for "I'm looking for supporters to get behind my potential candidacy now. If I get enough support, I will run. If not, well I said I wouldn't run."
Of course he isnt running for US President, he wants to be an Eco-Super Hero. Able to refreeze glaciers in a single breath! Singlehandedly disable every SUV, while planting 100,000 trees in downtown Manhattan! And destroy nuclear power with the algore boredom ray!
I'll donate!
How many reporters did Al tackle so that he could issue his denial?
