I walked out of a pre-negotiated car deal at couple years ago at the signing because the salesman started on some long BS tale of his time in the military. Why these people think they can lie to a guy who is actually in the military is beyond me.

I run into that a lot. People start telling "war stories" and I tell them I did 22 years in the Army. They change the subject real quick. I have no problem with people who do not go into the military. The military is not for everyone. I just have a problem with those who claim they were in and use it for some kind of advantage or gain credibility. Lots of callers to talk radio lately are claiming to be veterans. After two or three minutes of listening to them, I can tell the closet they ever got to the military and combat was at the theater. I love the way they all say they were "recon ranger snipers." Reminds me of Eddie Murphy in Trading Places. LOL!
