Thanks for the ping, Howlin. This is very good and should please everyone but the single-issue zealots who are too bullheaded to realize they're being used by the MSM and Democrats to split the GOP just in time for the upcoming elections.

Having symbolically LED the Minuteman Caravan to D.C. I still love this President and am praying for him. I do urge him to be more pro-active on our borders but I want him to remain in the Oval Office.

As I say, in other words, on my site.

thanks, Howlin. I agree with our Prime Minister John Howard...'be careful what you wish for...' he said.

Thank You, John Howard

John Howard, prime minister of Australia, is doing a world tour. At a stop in Chicago, he told the unmitigable truth, as headlined in the Age newspaper on Friday morning: "World would be a darker place if not for US: Howard."

His actually words to the Chicago Council on Foreign Relations were even better: "To the voices of anti-Americanism around the world, to those who shout 'Yankee go home', let me offer some quiet advice: be careful what you wish for."

It is a reminder that America is a big country, big enough to withstand the attcks of 9/11 -- the trillion-dollar damage to its main stock exchange and the near loss of its military headquarters.

Big enough to absorb the loss of an entire city.

Big enough to have 11 million illegal aliens in its midst and still argue whether welfare benefits for them should be cut off.

Big enough to host the most anti-American organization in the world, the United Nations.

"Without American leadership, the trials and tragedies of recent years could be but a prelude of darker days to come. With American leadership, we can build a better world — not just for us, but for all."

The Iraq War is very unpopular in his nation, yet Prime Minister Howard said, "Australia is with you. We will stay the course. We will finish the job."

I appreciate a world leader who is willing to still stand up for the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Thanks for this and the many pings, Howlin. I don't often get to them but when I do they're well worth it. His stances on immigration and concessions to spending grate, but I give the President the benefit of the doubt, even on these issues. He possesses much better and a vastly greater scope of information that we do.

It's really disheartening seeing the viciousness that routinely surfaces in these Bush-related threads. Some have an odd character about them that suggests (as many have said) there are disruptors at work stoking the flames. But too many true conservatives, on both sides of the issue, get awfully personal. One thing everyone should agree on: If the dems get Congress in November, the balance of the President's final term will be a REAL nightmare.

Interesting essay and very much on point. Too few try to express the good things the President has done but many from across the spectrum spare no opportunity to bash him for his less than perfect performance.

Thanks for the ping.

The country's most loyal president, the most consistent, and the most honest about where he stands on the issues, is being betrayed at every turn.

He will go down in history as one of the country's greatest presidents.

Thank you both and God bless President Bush!!

Of course none of us agrees with everything the Boss has done, but I for one believe his heart is in the right place and he does his level best for us every day. He does what he believes is right, regardless of the slanted polls, the carping media, the traitors in our own government bureaucracy, and the vicious partisanship from the Democrat elected officials. He deserves and needs our support - if we disagree, we should ask him to reconsider his position, not scream like a bunch of spoiled brats.

That was a terrific commentary...just like the last one she wrote that was posted here.

Just to get to your post though, I had to run a gauntlet of slings and arrows.

BTW...good to see you.
