Church to split over partnerships

A split may be imminent for the Church of Scotland over differing opinions regarding whether ministers should be allowed to conduct same sex partnerships.

The Kirk’s General Assembly is most likely to conclude that the decision will be left up to individuals, according to the BBC.

An evangelical group has intervened and threatened that such a decision could threaten the Church of Scotland.

The group deny being homophobic, but claim that such a departure from clear biblical teaching is a severe step, which "endangers the unity of the Kirk", and called for ministers to be forbidden from conducting ceremonies.

A pro-gay church group Affirmation Scotland have praised the proposed solution, citing a serious problem with gay discrimination from the Church.

The assembly’s meeting in Edinburgh will continue throughout the week.

Once again, the homosexual agenda strikes out at Christian values, putting homosexual perversions before the Church.

So the Christians are going to be forced out of the Church of Scotland. Once they are out, they will wonder why they delayed so long.

What is it with Scotland? What happened to William Wallace's spirit?

The Church is the body of Christ. If the institution goes off on a PC tangent. The Church will survive. They may have to go back to meeting in homes, but that is where they were meeting while our whole New Testament came into being.

a 98% vs 2% can only be portrayed as a split in the commie media.

What is it with Scotland?

I do not have a clue. I travelled much in Scotland during my youth and never noted ANY outward homosexuality BUT NOW twenty years later it seems everything is homosexual?

Scotland has for some time been the most social democratic leaning, most pro-French and pro-Brussels [EU] part in the whole United Kingdom.

I wonder if it's just the elites or the actual people of Scotland. I've got quite a bit of Scots ancestry (not recent) and from what I've read of history, the people of Scotland have been individualists.

Curiously no other group is more an 180 in attitude from the historical Scots than from the current Scottish people. Had Adam Smith or Wallace been alive today, he would be quickly banished. Scotland today copies from the French in everything in attitudes and policies, and they are even closer than the English to the "old Europe" ideology - high unemployment, free-falling birthrates, confiscationary tax rates, insane social policies, and nutty education systems.
