Kyl: Immigration Bill is Critically Flawed
Senator John Kyl's Press Release ^ | 5/25/2006 | Andrew Wilder or Ryan Patmintra,

Posted on 05/25/2006 6:09:38 PM PDT by petkus

This paragraph is near the end of the Press Release but it should give you an indication of how the Senate is abdicating our sovereignty to President Vincente Fox?

==================================

“A final provision the Senate adopted, despite my objections, was a requirement that before the United States construct any fencing along the border, we would have to consult with the Mexican government. Is this what the American people have in mind when they demand we secure the border? I can’t believe it.

This bill is loaded with unacceptable provisions; that final provision was just one of them.

It was Spector's package (a bunch of amendments from both sides)

BUT Dodds Amendment

http://cboldt.blogspot.com/
UPDATE @ 17:23 - Found it. Senator Dodd's S.Amdt.4089 contains the following language:

(b) CONSULTATION REQUIREMENT.--Consultations between United States and Mexican authorities at the federal, state, and local levels concerning the construction of additional fencing and related border security structures along the United States-Mexico border shall be undertaken prior to commencing any new construction, in order to solicit the views of affected communities, lessen tensions and foster greater understanding and stronger cooperation on this and other important issues of mutual concern.

Kyl does know a piece of garbage when he sees it...just like most Americans...and the House....but not the President or the Senate.

I have a suggestion that would be physically impossible, except for the hermaphroditic weasels in the Senate who want to sell us all out.

"concerning the construction of additional fencing and related border security structures" ..and, "security structures", which could mean just about anything, not just fences.. Insane.

I saw Graham on O'Reilly. He tore up that Polyanna. He was trying to recoup at the end and leaned into the camera and said the American people expect them to do both enforcement and legalization...Oreilly cut him off against the clock and said..."ah no thats not what they want..next on the factor"....grahams face fell...It was a great moment.

That prevailing wage requirement should be a deal killer for any business affected. Right now it's something like 3 1/2 times the 'street wage'.
