..I'm ashamed that I ever considered Coleman for a possible future VP or Pres. candidate--he really turned out to be a RINO I'm afraid...

Only 223 days of republican majority left.

Ok, Frist did vote against the amendment but for the bill. Here's the roll call for the immigration bill.

Sam Brownback certainly has grown while in office, hasn't he?

Brownback has prostituted himself to big agribusiness that relies upon illegals for labor. It is the same bunch that bought and paid for Bob Dole.

Thanks for the link. That vote just sank the slightest chance Frist had in '08 primaries...which was slim to begin with.

I'll definitely vote against Frist in the primaries. It's entirely possible I'll vote against him in the main election, even if it means voting for a 'rat. I looked last week to see if the constitution party had any candidates named for Tennessee, but they looked like they barely exist in TN.

Unfortunately, the Libertarian Party has gone off on a wild leftist tangent. Has the same lack of respect as the Green Party these days.

I never really considered the libertarian party an option. They always seemed to me to be mostly a drug legalization party. They share with conservatives a dislike of big government and high taxes, but they are too extreme in that they want to shirk legitimate governmental duties, completely abandon the poor and disband all safety nets.

Kristol gave a nominal defense of the suburban white male (read: redneck to libs) though in jest. My inspiration for the label came from Juan Williams's outrageous speculation, as usual, that Senate Republicans were merely trying to appease fearful, xenophobic, Southern white males by getting tough on illegal immigration. One can find the exact same charges on FR--in fact, I have!

So we have zero distinction between a flaming lib like Williams and those affectionately termed OBLs on the issue of immigration. Is it perhaps a bit rash to suggest that we begin calling spades spades?
