Interestingly, this was one of the key issues in Tom Daschle's defeat in 2004. He had qualified for a property tax exemption on his home in the District of Columbia by claiming that it was his permanent, full-time residence, and the folks back in South Dakota didn't look too kindly on it. For one thing, it called into question whether Daschle was legally qualified to represent South Dakota if his "permanent residence" was in D.C.

The only guy I know that uses Amtrak to go back and forth to Delaware is Joe Biden. Most lawmakers keep an apartment, home or hotel room in DC while congress is in session. Some of the multi million dollar homes of the senators make Rick Santorums home look damn near cheap. Kerry has several homes. Boston, Martha's Vineyard and a ski chalet in Colorado or whatever. We ought to start digging into the
homes of former Sen Edwards, Kerry and others. Santorum should take his kids for a bar b que over the weekend and shake hands with the slimey "Rats" that watch over his Pa.
property. Casey is campaigning on nothing. He is allowing the
dogs from moveon.org to nip at Santorums heels. It is time for Rick Santorum to address this in a manly way. What about it Rick?
