OK, precisely what gun charges?
If he didn't take it into the bar (not mentioned),
left it in the car, and used it to deter the perps,
we might have a discharge-in-city-limits with
affirmative defense. I'm not up on TX law, but I
don't immediately see a violation here, just a typical
presumptive charge that will end up dismissed.

Isn't discharging a solid-projectile weapon into the air a bit dangerous? Unless he was using snake loads or something, I'd think his bullets would have to land somewhere.
