I visited my cousin, who is in GErmany , this month. I got the same response , this venom spewing anti corporation, anti American, anti Bush stuff. She is a very educated person but they get their news from the same MSM here.
I left her place the next day and she still didn't get it...that just maybe I don't want her anger and vitriol.

Yes, it is very sad. I lost another very close friend to "them"..knew her for over 20 years.

One strange aspect of the William Jefferson story is that his legal troubles were known before Nancy Pelosi et al started their campaign slogan "Culture of Corruption". How tone deaf or insulated from the real world are the dems?

She was either counting on or had been explicitely told that her allies in the MSM would ignore all Democrat corruption and play up the "unique" Republican corruption, true or not.

Unfortunately for her the corrupt dims are just too stupid to "keep it zipped," so to speak, and even the MSM couldn't avoid the really breathtaking scope of some of the things they're doing.  So far Murtha has managed to dazzle them with footwork, but I think it's going to catch up with him, too.

Just a little walk down the Enron memory lane:

Also, remember how Joe Lieberman was calling for hearings on Enron, but once those hearings uncovered Robert Rubin's involvement Lieberman quickly shut down the investigation?

Bill Kristol is worried about who will babysit his kids, do his lawn, clean his pool, build his addition to his house, fix his roof. He does not live like the average American outside of the Beltway, and does not have a clue. We are all compassionate, just not stuck on stupid. I would love to ask him what would happen if he found out that an illegal had used his Social Security number and had blown his future SS payments to hell along with all his credit. The SSA does not do diddley to correct a stolen SS Number. If you doubt that just call them up and listen to the Liberal Toadies at the other end of the line tell you it is Ok, and we must be more compassionate, and concentrate on better Health care. Be prepared to have your head blow off your body when you realize just what we are up against. This Bill as far as I can see will do nothing to punish the criminals that stole people's identity(felony) and used it to fraudulently obtain goods, services, jobs,Driver's licenses, etc(much worse felonies), and are running around without fear of punishment. Thank you Republican Senators, because the Democrats cannot put this crappola through by themselves.

Frankly, I have more faith in the military justice system for anything that might have been done wrong than I do in Murtha, old media, many of our liberal courts or some Democrat demagogue.

"Yeah, but now they have "mobile" voters, who floated out of New Orleans, to other locations....... "

Correct! Just the other day, Howling Howard Dean assured the country, the the Governor of LA. told him only those above ground vote in that state.

Point taken. But, at least in China bribery is still able to keep costs a bit lower.

Hiring and independent outside contractor for that sounds like a good idea. I suggest Halliburton. But I disagree with "leaving them alone for another year". Without going into too much detail, ICE just arrested some MS-13 buttwipes here in STL. They had previously been deported. These people already here need to be tallied and documented. Not given visas or anything, but finding out who the rapists, murderers and drug dealers are, who is hiding them, and who is defending them. There was another case of gang rape of a 12 year old by illegals and when they caught those dudes, they had previously been deported, too. That was in Kansas City, I believe. The criminals among us must be ID'd and tossed. Keeping them here for another year just allows them to rape, murder a sell drugs longer. But categorizing the illegals already here, we will have a jumpstart when the border is secured..

Few illegals are going to step forward only to be slapped with huge fines; money they likely do not have.

Here's how this is going to work. The illegal comes forward and is told he/she will have to pay a $2,000 fine, BUT, they will also find out that, as a low wage worker, they are entitled to up to $4,700 per year of work by way of the Earned Income Tax Credit. Assume they claim the maximum credit for 3 years for a total of $14,700. Now paying a $2,000 fine doesn't look so bad.

I prefer: replace a Rino with a conservative. ;-)

That's a much more productive approach, for if all you do is vote out the RINO and replace him with a dim party hack you've actually made things worse.

I'll hold my nose and vote for a RINO over most Democrats as the lesser of two evils.  The trick is we have to get out there and work for the real conservatives and replace the RINOs in the primaries, not wait till our choice is a RINO or a dim.

I mean it is basic problem solving. Fix the problem, repair the damage, learn lessons from the event and plan for the future. Is that really so hard for us all to do?

This is without doubt the central question pertaining to human affairs. My answer is that it is really so hard to do- right up until the point where a critical mass of informed citizens are goaded by pain etc. to bring about change.

America's genius has been its ability to come up with the leadership and the will to bring about constructive change at the critical moment. But materialism and a false sense of security have been rocking a large portion of our society to sleep for decades. Alas, even 911 and the corrosive illegal immigration situation do not yet appear to have the legs necessary to kick us out of our collective slumber.

I am fearful for our future unless we very soon gather enough courage to secure our borders and to stop radical fundamentalist Islam. These huge challenges are very quickly moving beyond our current political system's ability to deal with them.
