I can't stand Dobbs show; I find him annoying every time I watch (which admitedly is very rare). BUT, I did see him on Reliable Sources a few weeks back, and he was asked about the ratings for his show (I guess it is one of the highest rated shows on CNN). His response made me LOL; he said because he is "fair and balanced!" CNN then put up a banner, underneath Dobbs picture that stated "fair and balanced". Too darn funny!

Senator Sessions never claimed he knew a number of how many illegals are getting EITC payments, just that many are. Read my post again. One is too many.
If Sen Session KNOWS how many people are collecting Govt Benefits illegally, Why are they still collecting them? In addition to Illegal Immigration that would be Welfare Fraud which we do seriously prosecute. Again, the arguments being advanced are taken on faith based on the person's personal position on the issue.
Senator Sessions doesn't know how many are collecting government benefits, but there is anecdotal evidence to show that they are. We know that illegals are using SS numbers illegally. This is fraud and identification theft. Do you think that this is not happening because we can't identify the exact number or have not prosecuted people for doing it?
Simply nonsense to make claims that x% of illegals do this or that when you cannot even qualify the total number of illegals.
As I indicated, it boils down to a willingness to enforce our existing laws. We know that employers are hiring illegals. We know that illegals are crossing our borders every day. We don't know the exact numbers, but there clearly is a problem even if we can't quantify it exactly.
To my knowledge I have never met any one of you, but I feel like I have known many of you almost forever. I throughly enjoy the Sunday morning thread. Informative, combative, funny. Somebody should write a book about us. I'd buy it.
Every week I made an attempt to take a issue to its next step if not to its logical conclusion. Sometimes I nail it, other times all I get is a sore thumb
Immigration is the hot topic of the day, and rightly so. Here are two other things I found to be of particular interest as we look down the road a little ways.
1. In spite of all the bluster of the raid on Jefferson's office, at the end of the day leadership of both sides of the house had to admit the FBI acted with in its authority. This has tremendous repercussions as the CIA leak investigations begin to focus on Congresscritters. Stay tuned...
2. A California appeals court in reversing a lower court ruling gave legal status to bloggers as journalists worthy of First Amendment protections. Regardless of the eventual outcome of the case, this this recognition will not go over well with the MSM. (You know that Dan Rather thing about filters and fact checkers.)
OK. Done with my weekly attempt to be relevant (maybe). Time to do my imitation of a melon. You know, honeydew this and honeydew that...
Yup, so far they have put Norwood and Sensenbrenner on. I think they thought they would both come off as nutcases. If so, they were sorely disappointed because they both did a great job.
Jeff Sessions is a true hero, as opposed to pseudo-hero like McCain who had the misfortune to get shot down and spent time in Hanoi Hilton. Although McCain surviving his ordeal is commendable, it did not contribute to the public betterment as much as Sessions undergoing the ordeal of vicious Senate confirmation process when he was nominated for federal appeals court, got kicked in the teeth, and determined to run for Senate himself (replacing blowhard Howell Hefflin) and become a thorn in their side (and a truth teller and conscience) ever since.
#321, Sadly you are right about Murtha. If you know anyone that has mental health problems especially dementia, he exhibits a lot of the symptoms. I am no Doctor,but know many people that have problems like his for a myriad of reasons,but you do not put the pathetic creature out there when our Military are out there in harm's way. You never let someone so clearly not in his right mind do this if you care at all for that person.Get him some help before he does all of us great harm. He is shilling for Al Qaeda and the Terrorists.
Senator Sessions is a BIG favorite with a number of us here. He exemplifies what a legislator should be. How does he do that...he just tells the truth, something that is very rare on the Senate floor.
Just reading what Blair might do after leaving his PM job...and all of the different options, I really think that Bill Clinton is probably very envious of his friend Tony...
Because I am sure that Clinton would love to have a system here, where he could go from POTUS to a LORD!!

Right. I once worked for an international molasses company and yes I recall almond hulls and oils (not nuts) were a competitive product. I did a dogpile search and see lots of info about almond hull animal feed (also used for bedding) and not anything about the nuts themselves.
Very little of internationally traded molasses is used for human consumption. The majority goes to cattle feed. I wouldn't describe that as keeping the world wide price of human edible molasses' up, cattle nutrition was the preponderance of the market demand and human molasses producers paid the market price. When was the last time you used molasses to sweeten something?
The alternative use in the third world where most of it is produced is to spread it on the fields as a fertilizer because its a by product of sugar manufacturing and has practically no value at all. The point is that it is the total demand and supply that gives that commodity an international value.
What we see with illegal labor is artificially low costs distorting the demand for mechanization (too low) and the artificially low costs probably distort the demand for its products also. Maybe we just wouldn't buy as many green onions if it were 15 cents more a pound, we might substitute leeks or dried onions. Maybe we wouldn't eat out as quite as frequently if restaurants charged 10 percent more because they had legal employees. Maybe we wouldn't have had as big a housing boom if construction costs weren't driven downward by illegals on construction sites.
