Sorry I've been gone so long, had a bout hospitalization w/CLL LeukemiaI broke my previous hospital record wbc count, almost got to 500k! Had'da get'em centrifuged out, then lots'a transfusions, which of course got me a bad one and went septic with Psudomona infection. Ick!
Anyway, just to pass alongI discovered thru a fellow vet that if you are a Viet Nam Veteran and have come down with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL), It is "More likely than not" that you were exposed to Agent Orange if you ever set foot in Viet Nam for any length of time. (I always thought it applied to the Air Force guys that flew the planes, or grunts that walked through it. Apparently that wasn't true.)
Full disclosureI'm a "combat vet" by courtesy only; I served during the last war cruise of the Intrepid. The only time I set foot in Nam was when I picked up mail/parts/people on the COD. The most martial job I had was pushing Mk. 82's in "G" div during Tet.
The point is, I don't think some guys realise how pervasive Agent Orange use was, and if you're a vet who has it, you should check with the VA and see if you may have been exposed. Pass the word around...
Otherwise, It's nice to be back. Now about Chuckie Hagel ... Grrrrrr!
OMG, are you OK? I hope you have a decent prognosis, all that stuff that you had to endure makes me feel tired. God Bless you..
