Pfffft... I'll believe it when I see it.
I don't think they would mix with the well established outright commies and socialist factions there.

If the LA Times said the sun rises in the east, I'd look for it every morning in the west.

There are a few who support our military. Zell Miller, Joe Lieberman and Ed Koch come to mind but democrats of that stripe are few and far between.

Beinart is remarkably perceptive when it comes to understanding the threat posed by tyrants such as Saddam and by Islamofascism and terrorism (for a Democrat, anyway), although he is still wrong on many counts (he remains a true believer in Socialism, for example, despite its notable and inherent failures). In an earlier generation, there were many like him among the Democrats.
Clearly, when the former Vice Presidential candidate of the party is villified and demonized by such a substantial and vocal portion of the party's fanatical activist base, the party has changed in a very visible way. Bush Derangement Syndrome has replaced what little logic and reason was still left among the Democrat masses...

The "mainstream" (far left leadership who are represented as such by the MSM) RATS don't consider them to be "real" Democrats, just as the NAACP does not consider conservative blacks to be "real" blacks!

I think they mean Neocoms (Neo Communists) not Neocons.

george will wrote recently about beinart and his foreign policy views. i used to get the new republic, and they do tend towards a dem version of neo-conservativism--they tend to support foreign intervention in the middle east.
and moveon is working against lieberman.
there is a battle going on, but it is unclear to me how much power the dem neo-cons have.

Anyone who does not stick to the hardline liberal agenda will be thrown overboard. Deviation is not allowed. Look at Hillary Clinton, even the tinfoil hatters are turning against her.

Aren't they called neorats?
To: JimRed
Real Democrats:
Ice Jefferson
Jihad Cindy McKinney
Patches Kennedy
Three criminals who are being harboured in the U.S Congress.
There can be no meaningful legislation on any issue until U.S. AG Alberto Gonzalez and the federal policing agencies go in there and clean it up. Richard Nixon seems to be the last man who was held to the "no one is above the law" standard in Washington.

Well it would be nice to know that there are people on the other side that aren't traitors, commies, cowards, and surrender monkeys. However even if there is a crowd of scoop Jackson democrats out there they are not long for this world. Look at the tar and feathering of one of the last electable democrats Joe Lieberman. Nope no comeback of liberal hawks anytime soon, just a few post mortum twitches.

TFP.
Neocons have one thing in mind - to control the foreign policy of both parties. A prior generation of today's neocons successfully rode the Communism wagon as Democrats for the internationalist vehicle. When the red wagon ran out of drive, they successfully crossdressed as Conservatives and used market capitalism to control foreign policy. Their hold on the GOP is strong. Now they sense that the Democrats may jump their internationalist bent and hasten to return to right that ship. All your USA foreign policy 'belong to them'.

The term "NeoCon" is pejorative used to reference members of the Bush Administration and supporters who happen to be Jewish (Wolfowitz, Perle, Kristol, Sharansky, Krauthammer, Novak etc..).
Now the term "Israel Lobby" is being used interchangeably. Only a few more years and they'll just come out and say what they really mean.
