He was down on Iraq. Said he'd voted for Bush twice but didn't like how things were going in Iraq.

At least he was open to enlightenment. I met someone like that when I was on leave at home late last year - some guy who started spouting off about the "failure in Iraq" at Christmas party I was attending. I kept trying to avoid him, but he finally cornered me as one more person to listen to his drivel. He rambled for a few minutes and I finally said "You know, that's just not true."

He then started the condescending stuff so I asked where he got his information. He said, "where do you get yours?"

I replied, "I live in Iraq. I have for the last two years."

I must say I thoroughly enjoyed the look on his face and the subsequent squirming he did trying to extricate himself from the topic.

Several other guests at the party thanked me for "shutting him up."
