Why does it take "stones" to boycott a speech?

"So when President Fox came to California to promote amnesty for the Mexican nationals that have broken our laws, I found his presence here to be arrogant and offensive. Many of the Mexican citizens who come to the United States illegally are the "social problems" of Mexico.
The corruption, the favoritism, the oppressive government has left many of these people in abject poverty, and, if they didn't come to the United States, they would probably start a revolution in Mexico. Fox wants us to relieve the political tension that these social problems would cause.
So why should I sanction this visit? Why should I sit and listen to lies and propaganda meant to influence the legislative passage of a bill in Congress with which I vehemently disagree? We need to enforce our laws first, not listen to the President of Mexico ask us to pay for his social problems. He should go back to Mexico, fix his economy, fix his corrupt government, and quit sending us his social problems.
I couldn't say that to him because he would not meet with us to hear these words. So I greeted him with silence. It wasn't disrespectful. It was protest. It is how I would treat any lobbyist who was pushing me to do something I thought was wrong. More important, it was wrong of the leadership of the California Legislature to aid and abet his lobbying effort.
I wasn't going to sanction it at any level, so I left, and encouraged others to do the same. It was the right thing to do."

So you'd go and kiss the toes Sr. Pres. Fox? I just asked why it takes "stones" to boycott a speech?

well if you have to ask then you don't have a clue.
and I don't have the time or the inclination to teach you Mexican history including the tons of illegal drugs and millions of illegal aliens that Fox has allowed into CA and America.

well if you have to ask then you don't have a clue. Was he under some type of threat before his boycott?

He will be looked down upon by his peers now.
Politicians are supposed to all line up in lockstep with His Excellency V. Fox.
It doesn't take "stones" IMO.
It takes character and a love for the sovereignty of the United States of America.

I am sure when you get through with high school you will learn the definition of peer and peer pressure.
Until then don't bother trying to steer threads astray OK?

What Americans should focus on is the REAL construct of Mexico's Federal government dominated by its small ruling class (wealthy elitists) members of whom more than one half are descended from second tier nazi bureaucrats who fled when Allies were entering Germany. The next time some insipid and delusional liberal democrat worries about republicans driving America into becoming a "police state", point out to the idiot that Mexico is the prototypical "police state."

You know, noticing that someone stands up for his own country is one way to draw attn to how many do not.
Considering how Bush makes cow's eyes at Vicente, a Republican bucks his leadership by boycotting.

Don't let the pro-illegals around here bug ya Syncro.
Just ignore them and work as hard as you can to see that the Senate bill which Presidente Fox likes so much dies a long, slow, painful, public death in the House.

ya know before you jump into a thread, you might take the time to actually read the entire piece...
and it's quite obvious that you hadn't since you took less than a minute to post from the time I posted the thread.

I just read the entire thing from the link. He didn't mention anything that placed him at risk for this particular boycott. Does he represent a large Hispanic constituency that may cost him his seat?
