I agree with your point that such academic fraud is probably less isolated than he states. See Arming America. However, I give him a lot of credit for being fair enough to have read the report, digested it, and concluded that the proven charged against Churchill merit nothing less than Churchill's firing. Altogether too many liberal academic types would try, instead, to make excuses for Churchill; this man didn't and I praise him for it.

If Churchill had not written his controversial 9/11 piece, he'd still be teaching. That was the final straw, though the essay itself was defended by the University as protected political speech.

Yes, professor Pasnau deserves credit for calling for Churchill's dismissal after reading the 125-page final report. But was professor Pasnau among those who called for an investigation? Did he ask the university to look into Churchill's scholarship before the controversial essay triggered a nationwide reaction?

How many other Churchills are festering at the University of Colorado that professor Pasnau is willing to condemn only after he reads the final report on their activities? Like I said, I'm not assured by his statement that he knows of no others. Is he looking?
