It always irks me that the media are not satisfied with reporting what is or has happene. They want to predict the future. They are like kids in the back of a car going "Are we there yet?"

Comment I posted on another thread:

"Don't anyone be fooled. This is only partially about justice in this case and much more about breaking the morale of our troops so that they will doubt the mission they are on and by extension the leadership of the President. We must redouble our efforts in support of the troops and their sacrifice. The fact that this was highlighted on Memorial Day weekend shows the lengths that the old, drive-by media will go to in pursuit of that objective."

On a more basic level, it is about power and influence. I was really stunned to hear that a White House correspondant is paid $350,000/yr. that makes him very important, don't you know? The Sunday media people earn a lot more than the Presidents and Congressmen they comment on, so they must be more important.
