Sen. Durbin Backs Barack Obama for President

Barack Obama is getting a push toward a presidential run from fellow Democratic senator from Illinois, Dick Durbin.

Speaking on "Fox News Sunday," Durbin said he's told Obama he should look "long and hard" at the possibility of running. The 44-year-old Obama has already said he won't run for president in 2008.

But Durbin says Obama brings something special to politics. He says Obama connects better with people than anyone he's ever seen. And Durbin adds that he thinks Obama has the potential to unite people from both Democratic and Republican regions of the country.

And, yes, Durbin also says he would endorse an Obama candidacy should he decide to run.

Just another socialist/baby killer, unfortunately he's my U.S. Senator.

ROFLMAO, that would be perfect. The first debate would display for all to see the intellectual midget he truly is.

Obama would lose. It wouldn't take long for his fake autobiography to surface in the Democratic primaries. Hillary would see to that.

This is a good idea. Black voters need an alternative; they should be offended that they're so taken for granted by the Democratic Party.

Black voters need an alternative who is honest, ethical, and actually black.

They're severely lacking in role models, since the only honest and ethical ones are rapidly discounted and attacked by the NAACP because they're conservatives.

"If Malcolm X's discovery toward the end of his life, that some whites might live beside him as brothers in Islam, seemed to offer some hope of eventual reconciliation, that hope appeared in a distant future, in a far-off land. In the meantime, I looked to see where the people would come from who were willing to work toward this future and populate this new world."

Like there would ever be a debate that he wasn't declared the winner in advance.

ooooooooooooooh, an endorsement from Senator DICK Durbin. That'll sure give Obama some fearsome gravitas....

I might as well not even vote. The election's already over, folks.

If the socialist congressman from Tenn gets the Senatorial nod, Obama will have some competition. Harold Ford Jr. considers himself to be a good first black presidential candidate.

Not surprising. Last November I "predicted" Hillary/Obama in '08. I'm not so sure anymore, but...

Obama is the Stepford Senator/Candidate. He's less than a phony. He's creepy and faux. There's nothing behind the curtain with him. He's less than an empty shell. Zero substance.

Let's see if Hillary, assuming she gets her party's nomination, will nominate a Black candidate as her VP.
