You CANNOT support the troops without supporting their mission. The moment you begin splitting those hairs, the criticosm of the mission is an implicit criticism of the troops.
Why can't you support the troops by saying what a good job they are doing obeying their orders...yet not agree with the orders?
Criticising the mission, has nothing to do with the troops, they did not create the mission.
Exactly. I was the same way. Didn't like the mission, didn't like the CIC, didn't think we had any business being there, but was behind the troops and the mission from the moment they were in harms way.
You CANNOT support the troops without supporting their mission. The moment you begin splitting those hairs, the criticosm of the mission is an implicit criticism of the troops.
"You CANNOT support the troops without supporting their mission. "
Sure you can. Kosovo is a perfect example.
This new thing reminds me of the incident where NYC cops sodamized a guy with a broomstick. Rudy had to stick up for the police force, because all the critics wanted to hang all cops. Rough guys like cops and soldiers will sometimes get too rough. But they get most criticicism from those who don't have the guts physically to protect themselves or their families. There is this delusion that talk will solve everything. Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me. Not so long as I have a bat or brick in my hand.
