There are probably more stories that contradict this one. With Carter being a Sunday School teacher and a volunteer at Habitat for Humanity makes me find this story hard to believe.

I believe that Jimmy Carter is a Christian, albeit a seriously misguided one.

Ol' Jimmuh was not a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. At least not at first. He hired on as a paid spokesman, and then picked up the hammer when he saw how well it would play on the post-presidential stage.

Hey -- if the Lord won't call him home, can we send him to Venezuela, permanently?
