Would someone please explain to me why Marines who had just allegedly murdered civilians then bring the bodies full of close range bullet holes to doctors and then claim they were killed by shrapnel and or an IED blast?????

I'll give you a scenario....
They go in the house from which shots are being fired- throw a grenade into what turns out to be the kitchen and the propane tank blows up. Then, they enter the kitchen, find the bodies riddled with bullets and realize they've been set up.
THEY set off the grenade which, in turn, ignites the propane tank which, at this point, becomes classified as an IED. And they took responsibility for the IED.
