I've heard of cops dropping a gun on a dance floor or something like that. But dropping one or dropping the ammo while one is supposed to be incognito could be fatal! The guy sounds like a dumbass.

My nephew, the Houston cop, shot himself while cleaning his gun ! His chief told him "No problem, it could happen to anybody". He's still a Houston cop.
