As you know, Rick is recovering from recent cancer surgery. I know, through watching him and listening to his many reflective thoughts and concerns during this trial, that, when a good man comes face-to-face with his mortality, he asks himself, Has my life thus far been well spent? and If the Lord spares me, and allows me to defeat this illness, how can I better spend the time that I have left?
From what I know of him, I believe that Wayne Hage is surely receiving affirming and uplifting spiritual answers to such introspection. He has long been such an outspoken advocate of the right to private property, in an era in which government encroachment in that domain is growing by aggressive leaps and bounds, generally under the guise of environmental concerns and the abuse of eminent domain.
In an era when all too many of us lack the integrity and commitment to look a corrupt system square in the eye, and stand firm for the freedoms we inherited through unprecedented sacrifice on the part of those who went before, Wayne Hage has been a courageous exception to that rule. His boundless dedication to preserving and defending one of our most precious God-given rights renders him a modern-day American hero.
May His faith in God see him through this difficult time. If it be the Lords will, we pray that Wayne Hage might defeat this illness and live to fight further battles and defend other important ground.
And, if it is the Lords will to allow the cancer to take him from us, we pray that more of his countrymen will see fit to take up the banner he has carried so courageously, and for so long and that Waynes remarkable family might know the strength, love, healing and comfort that only He can provide.

Thank you. You are always so eloquent and thoughtful, joanie.

A more fitting description of Wayne and his activities could not be uttered IMHO. As always, thank you Joanie.
