and they still opened the cockpit door?
I think the message was just 'cockpit intrusion' or similar. And prior to 9/11 the plan was for them to negotiate and if the terrorists wanted the door opened for them, it would be opened.

"Bin Laden Determined to Strike U.S."
Did you ever actually read that briefing? There was not much to it. Even the 'blue sky memo' wasn't very exact. If you want to fully understand 9/11, at least spend some time reading the Commission's Report. It is better reading than those conspiracy sites and you'll come away understanding not only 9/11 but what steps were taken to correct some longstanding problems...and will understand the steps being taken to reverse those corrections.

Sure the calculus have changed now. But give or take, in 20 years, we would have forgot 9/11 ever happened. Then hijackers can take over our planes again.
We are not like Israel, which is a garrison state that is prepared for war anytime, anywhere.

You're talking post-9/11 in your little diatribe. How was Bush supposed to stop the attack when we didn't know WHEN it would occur, WHERE It would occur, and exactly HOW it would occur?

And who are your idols when it comes to good performance, then?

I just saw it yesterday...rented from Hollywood Video. I reacted exactly as I knew I would - screaming at the screen saying, "DO something! Don't just cringe and cower!" But of course it's easy to be brave in hindsight.
I kept thinking, what would I have done? Maybe I would have believed the hijackers when they said that if we were just quiet, we would all be okay. I doubt it though, since they killed a passenger and a stewardess. I think I would have known we had to do something, especially when the news came over the phones that there were other suicide missions.
I hope you can see it soon.

all i have to say is look at my tagline.
it ain't suppose to be funny. this is how we should refer to all these a-holes that still think we are the bad guys.
