The Crashed Plane Was a Brand-new AWACS Plane China Developed
A Chinese air force plane, which recently crashed in Anhui Province, killing all crews, turned out to be 'Gongjing-2000,' a brand-new AWACS plane China recently developed.

According the analysis of military experts, it was modeled after the Illushin-76 transport plane of Russia, and its radar is not spiral(?) type U.S. or Russian use, but fixed attachment type, which put China one step further than U.S. and Russia.

Well this was the clinton years, so hard to blame israel for wanting to do business with them on sensitive tech like this while our own government's political party at that time was being funded in part by china.
Remember how they forced down one of our smaller awacs during the first year of Bush 43? I wonder if ChiComs knew it was a plant to spin their intel wheels into a non flyer?

They brought down a navy EP-3, not an AWACS E-3. Also, the naval version of the AWACS is an E-2. The EP-3 does surveillance, not command and control.
I kind of liked the un-enhanced version. It reminded me of what the color and texture of the air is like in China. You can almost smell the high sulphur coal aroma.
Maybe if the Chinese are nice the Russians will loan them the Buran.
It's possible that the crashed aircraft is not the KJ-2000 awacs prototype. The Chosun Ilbo is essentially quoting a Hong Kong newspaper which when writing about the PLA, usually ends up using cobbeled together internet rumours.
The KJ-2000 does not have a 40-man crew.
It is likely that the crashed aircraft was a Y-8 Transport.
No Wrong. I have NO PROBLEM blaming Israel for the Tech transfer to China. You set up a false argument when you say that because we were doing it, it was okay for them. WRONG.
