Skip to comments.Hillary, Schumer Voted to Slash NYC Terror Funds

Senators Hillary Clinton and Charles Schumer have been complaining for a week now about an $80 million cutback in New York City's anti-terrorism funding by the Department of Homeland Security.
But it turns out that they both voted to make substantial cuts in the city's terrorism funding last year.
According to Newsday, the Democratic duo backed a $95 million cut last December in funding from the Centers for Disease Control for bioterrorism programs around the nation. Of that amount, approximately $3 million would have gone directly to New York City.
Mrs. Clinton and her Democratic co-hort actually wanted to cut bioterrorism funding even more. In October, they both backed a preliminary proposal that would have slashed the CDC grant by $123 million.
On Sunday, Sen. Schumer staged a press conference to complain about a proposed $7 million cut from the CDC in the city's bio-terror programs, saying it was like "rubbing salt in the wound" after DHS announced cutbacks in the city's terror funding last week.
But Schumer failed to mention his own votes in favor of cutting bioterror funding.
He told Newsday that he "stands by" his earlier decision to slash terror funding for the city, saying he did so because the cuts were attached to a bill that funded health care and education.
Sen. Clinton, who has launched a letter writing campaign to force a restoration of DHS's terrorism funding for New York, has had no comment on her own votes to back cuts in anti-terror programs.
But, but...Schumer's intentions were good...right???
ROFLMAO! Thanks I needed to laugh!
And I'm sure the MSM will be all over this story - wall-to-wall coverage, etc.
So he cut the funding for security, because he didn't want to fund health care AND education??!
That's gonna leave a mark.
I don't think Chuckie realizes what he said .. LOL!
Oh say it ain't so...;)
Wow this is just priceless. I can see the political adds already.
Yeah, I wanna hear the spin on this one.
FLIP FLOP FLIP FLOP......it seems to come along with being a dem.
How about we send flip flops to her heinous and the odious schumer.
Confusted? Go ask John "The Snake" Kerry. He'll explain. LOL
Well that's a thought! LOL I am also putting it in my files. I have files on ALL possibles and the Dimrats in general. I see a future ad! Delicious!
Speaking of New York, Cavuto is having RFK Jr. on today. Jr. is going to outline how "we" stole the election in 2004. This could be popcorn worthy. Spread the word.
Are they still beating on that dead horse.....?
In a word? YES! LOL!
As much as I despise Li'l Chucky and Broom Hilda, you know as well as anyone that these types of bills are so loaded with bull and pork that Congressturds often end up voting against a bill that includes a provision that they would have voted for if presented in a seperate bill.
But we don't publish a tabloid website.
Also from your site...
this is so stupid, but if you know how budgets work in the real world you would know that they do not go up by a given percentage every year automatically like in government
imagine if you ran a fire station
you would not have to spend the same money every year
you may pay the same salaries every year but you would not have to buy new fire trucks every year so the buget should rise and fall
well that is how it works in the real world
but how it works in congress is every year they increase a budget by say 7% then if Bush says no we are only going to need an increase of 4% this year the dems cry wahhhhh he cut the budget by 3%
not true the budget INCREASED 4%
I want to thank you for the title you gave Hilarity, "her heinous." That's good. I am in the habit of calling her Jezebel but I really like "her heinous".It fits her.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I am sick and tired of tuning into FOX to see another liberalspeak jackass mouthing off against conservative values. Enough is enough. We need a real conservative TV news outlet. Conservatives made FOX as popular as it is and this is how we are rewarded.
Ah but Neil is having him (RFK Jr.) on so that we can eat popcorn and mock Jr. :)
I certainly hope New Yorkers are keeping their eyes open on this. Both of da bums should be removed from office in their next elections!
Heinous is actually too mild for what I really think of that traitor. There is no doubt in my mind that she would kill in a heartbeat.
This guy is usually much farther to the left than I am and he gets lots of dem listeners.
He got the facts out on both of NY's senators.
Heard Rush say that the attacks on the Ohio vote count is to harm Blackwell in Ohio. A black republican running for governor.
It's just that dems are so used to lying and getting away with it that they're not adjusted to the web exposing their lies.
AWESOME NEWS! Thanks!
Classic Demo word spin...I voted for the cuts, before I voted against them
All the while, the two of them kept squawking that NY first-responders weren't getting enough, and that it was because of the incompetence in the White House.
Sadly enough, the democrats are never told to clarify their remarks or answer a single follow up question. Journalists are lazy.
Well, I watched the interview and it was nothing but a smear job on Ken Blackwell. Kennedy is just another nasty DemocRAT looking to taken down a fine man.
I predict it will backfire. Ohioans won't like some outsider telling them their state is corrupt.
Yes, except Chucky Broom-Hillary like bull and pork.
Flip flop; flip flop; flip flop. What a couple of winners.
I watched it and was disgusted at how stupid it all is. I can't stand ANY Kennedy. They're all crooks or charlatans.
Just posted it here http://albanysinsanity.com/?p=135 for all my readers.
Can you say "let's create an issue that we can blame Bush for"?
These two make me sick. Thank god we have some people out there telling the truth like Carl Limbacher and us with Blogs.
What I want to know is why they kept their bloody yaps shut when the money was being spent on things like diversity programs and air conditioners.
it was an election year
and bush can't win in the media
I thought he spent too much and it was running up the deficit
now he is spending to little
you are never going to make everybody happy and the media is always willing to give a air time to a "critic of the administation"
