A 10:1 thrust to weight ratio is pretty darned skippy to me.
Figure 300 pounds for glider / jet + fuels / chute and body, with 70 pounds of thrust (2 engines) you have a T/W ratio of .23 which is on par with an Me-262 jet fighter.
Four engines & 50+ extra pounds for fuel/engine weight and you are at .4 T/W ratio. that's a between F-86 Sabre and F-100 performance levels
It's enough. Found this table with T/Wg ratios for review and comparisons of old and modern fighters.
