Outspoken ex-candidate resurfaces on veterans, Marine issues

Hackett also is irritated at Democratic Rep. John Murtha of Pennsylvania, a decorated Marine veteran who has been briefed by military officials on the Haditha deaths and has said that U.S. troops "overreacted because of the pressure on them." Hackett said Murtha is feeding an image of traumatized, out-of-control soldiers like characters in the movies "Rambo" and "The Deer Hunter."

"With one broad stroke, he's recklessly indicted all those Marines ... I don't know if he's gotten addicted to the microphones and the cameras. For him to continue to foam at the mouth, it's irresponsible, it's stupid, it's wrong."

Murtha's office didn't respond to a phone call seeking comment.

When they called his office it sounds like Cut 'n Run Murtha cut and ran!!

I'll be curious to see how much coverage these comments by Mr. Hackett get compared to coverage of his anti-Iraq comments.

Conservatives Turn on Hawkish Murtha

Hawkish? When was it considered "hawkish" to demean the military the way Murtha has for the last several years?

Please consider supporting EX-Marine Jack Murtha's worthy opponent - Diana Irey. Thank you.

What's up with your title? The title of the article is:

Outspoken ex-candidate resurfaces on veterans, Marine issues

It is about Hackett, a former dem contender...

I think "on" belongs after the word "Hawkish" in the headline, not before it.

Hackett is representing Marines under investigation. Better headline would be:

Marines' Lawyer Fires Back At Backstabbing Opportunist Politician

Is Murtha stupid or something? Has he always been like this? He seems shallow and prone to shoot from the hip? Or does he actually know something we don't?

Let me get this right, Hackett was the last Democrat to win a Moral Victory before yesterday's Moral Victory by Busby, right?

It appears the poster made up his own title and the Mods have corrected it.

Whether he knows something or not, his despicable behavior at pronouncing guilt via the media is no less disgusting. He must be defeated.

The traitor is going to have to be cornered by concerned US Reps while under the dome. Perhaps the willing could band together and form outside his office when it is known he is in side and then kick the frigen door down, run to the phone, rip the cord out, and then sit him down for a little talk.

I like the idea of mandatory drug and polygraph tests in Congress. Would make a great weekly reality show on FOX.

Let me know if you find any, because they sure have been missing in action so far.

Those poor DU people. They worshipped Hackett, and then they were all upset when the national democrats dumped Hackett for their inside man, and now Hackett's attacking their other hero.

What will they do?

Mouthy Murtha can always find his way to the microphones and cameras when he wants to smear our troops or the WH. How 'interesting' that he just cannot be found when the heat is turned up a wee bit.....

I'm happy to see Hackett criticizing Murtha for his despicable behavior. Even though he's representing a Marine, he's also a Dem.

Diana Irey deserves the support of all veterans, including Democrats and Independants.
