i The four, who pleaded guilty to solicitation to commit immigrant smuggling, were sentenced to two years supervised probation and expected to face deportation proceedings.

How does this work? they get two years supposedly supervised probation, and deportation hearings.. why not skip the tax payers probation and just deport them, they will skip out on their probabtion, and be back in business..

I think the whole point of this exercise is.....they are no longer just "immigrants looking for a better life" but actually have a criminal record now and are on probation. That means if they get caught in the U.S. again they can actually do something about it.
