Different kind of war entitrely from previous efforts - a better comparison might be to De Gaul in France with u.S> suipport disrupting the Germans or the "The Anti-American Resistance War for National Salvation" who carried the war in South Vietnam for the communists before the Tet offensive when the North Vietnemise regulars took over.
