Dems Irked Over Zarqawi's Death
NewsMax.com ^ | June 8, 2006 | Carl Limbacher

Posted on 06/08/2006 6:15:55 AM PDT by Carl/NewsMax

Grassroots Democrats weighing in on several popular liberal web sites Thursday morning said that they were troubled by reports that al Qaeda's top operational terrorist, Abu Musab al Zarqawi, had been killed in a U.S. air strike.

Reacting to the news, one visitor to the Daily Kos complained that using military force to kill Zarqawi "violates everything my America stands for."

"It violates the rule of law and invokes the rule of force in what should be a criminal, not a military, matter."

Another Daily Kos'er was irked because he thought the news would benefit President Bush:

"No doubt Karl Rove will have the Sock Puppet President acting as if he personally dropped the bomb that killed that jackass," he wrote. "But other than a couple of photo ops of Bush looking cocky, it does nothing because two more tin-plated Zarqawi's will pop up."

A third Kos poster suggested that there was little difference between the top al Qaeda terrorist and the leader of the free world, writing: "Now [that] we are rid of one murderous tyrant - how about the removal of another one-believed hiding in a safe-house at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue?"

Over at the Democratic Underground, reaction to news of Zarqawi's death was also negative:

"Convenient too that this would happen now," complained one DU'er: "Guess we should just all forget about that Haditha mess, the fact that we are approaching 2,500 dead and the fact that our economy is in big trouble."

Another DU poster said that killing the al Qaeda chief really wasn't such a big deal, insisting: "Zarqawi was a fringe group of al Qaeda, and definitely NOT responsible for the bulk of the insurgency and civil war now occurring in Iraq. Any gains that they hope to receive will be short-lived when reality strikes home."

Sometimes I can't believe the psychoses. Disclosure: I was opposed to going to Iraq. But this is cause for rejoicing for all freedom lovers. These reactions separate those with principles who may be opposed, but still love and support their country, from those who despise it.

Liberals can't be happy for our country. They actually are enamored of murderers. Then again, they still champion Saddam Hussein, so I'm not surprised by their caterwauling over Zarqawi's demise.

Some more DUers comments I found and posted on the Live Thread:

It's almost an "open joke" among the military and
civilians who know how PsyOps operate, and the History, that Zarqowi is merely a "Pentagon creation."

And oh, don't we need some good news now? It's so predictable I could write the OP Orders.

It's all bullshit LIES paraded around for PR exploitation.

We almost need wings to rise above it.

Sadly, for a few days, this will be the only thing talked about and meanwhile we will hit the 2,500th death of US troops and will anyone be paying attention?

Typical claptrap. A criminal matter? I swear, some of these loony leftists think we should have given Mohammed Atta a parking ticket for "unauthorized parking" of a plane and left it at that. (I'm not minimizing the horror of 9/11, just illustrating the disgusting ideas of the moonbats.) And of course, anything good SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN since Bush might get credit. Better the US lose the war than Bush be right and benefit America. No, these people don't wish America ill, no way. (sarcasm) i won't even dignify the "Bush is a terrorist" nonsense.

As I search for some rational explanation for what essentially has NO such explanation, all I can come up with is that these people are in the deepest denial. Somehow it's more comforting and less frightening for them to believe that Bush & co planned 9/11 and the war than to believe there are scum like Osama, Atta and Z. (can't spell it) out there who WANT TO DESTROY US and that we have to fight them.

Whatever. Let them play in their sick sandbox. As long as these idiots get the f--- out of the way and let the ADULTS defend us.

Reacting to the news, one visitor to the Daily Kos complained that using military force to kill Zarqawi "violates everything my America stands for."

"It violates the rule of law and invokes the rule of force in what should be a criminal, not a military, matter."

That reiterates what W and Cheney said before the election in pointing out the difference betweeen the right way of responding to terrorism and the left (wrong) way or responding. The democrats view it as a criminal matter to be dealt with by courts and lawyers, when in fact it should be viewed as an act of war against America committed by these terrorists. You don't send your neighborhood crime watch to respond to an act of war; you send your military with the best warfighting equipment it has. Of course, the idiot democrat lapdogs of the media immediately misconstrued Cheney's and W's comments as if they meant terrorists would attack us again if democrats won the election but not if republicans won. Talk about a lack of comprehension skills!

This is proof positive that good news for America is always bad news for Democrats. Wait till the offical 'Rat talking points hit the airwaves later today, but in the meantime, enjoy watching the heads pop like popcorn over at the DUmp...

Someone bet me a burger that Nancy Pelosi will be out soon, and closely mirror what DailyKOS (et al) is saying; something to the effect that the worst economy in 100 years trumps the death of a mere "terrorist" in Iraq....blah, blah, blah...
